  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Official 0-60 & 1/4 mile thread

And what is 0 to 60 now. I was gung-ho on JB4 but doesn't seem as times are much better. I would think sub 4 with map 2 93 or even map3 with 99?
How do you like the lozic tune? Power gains? Pops?

Here is a pass today as the car sits. Map 2 JB4, Stock exhaust, 91 octane, stock intakes. Basically nothing but JB4.

Best run when the car was fully modded was 11.26@123
Ok, so that 12.55 is like .4 better than stock. I am debating on whether that is worth 600+ dollars outlay (have been on the jb4 fence for a while)

^ seriously? With just the JB4 on 93 fuel...I got to 4.1 sec to 60 on Map 2. Adding BOOSTane Pro getting me to almost 100 octane...I got to 3.8 sec on Map 3.

Nice trap. I installed the bms intakes yesterday and live where 93 is easily accessible. JB4 going in hopefully Tuesday. What do you think would be a reasonable 1/4 mile expectation? Car is awd with the 3.3T.
Should easily be 12.5 or lower I would guess. As long as you get your 60ft down.

its worth it.

My 12.5 pass was just JB4 and zero other mods and straight 91 octane with a Terrible 60ft. I hit a 12.04@113.63 with a better 60ft and E85 blend Map2. Stock exhaust.

With a good 60ft, JB4, intakes, E85 blned you can hit high 11's low 12s.

Does anyone have both lozic tunes and jb4
Most, actually. But the two aren't meant to multiply or even add their gains - use a JB4 to log, fine tune or control supplementary fuel like CPI and WMi

Many do, as stated. Use the JB4 for logging, or controlling other aspects of the engine mods(CPI, meth, boost reduction in gears, etc.)
The fastest 3.3T AWD, a KIA Stinger, uses Lozic and JB4, and he's in the high 10 second quarter mile with a sub 3 second 0-60.

For those wondering what to get from a tuning perspective, here is some balanced information.

JB4 - Positive
  • Solid power increases
  • Lots of features (instant map switch, EWG etc..)
  • Basic install/removal is easy - though the more options, the more difficulty
  • Great support
  • Proven solution
  • Good price
JB4 - Negative
  • Unable to impact launch control boost (Though the BMS brake snip is a free solution)
  • Unable to change TCU torque targets (1st and 2nd gear) - This limits 0-60 and 60ft improvements no matter the map
  • Denso or HKS plugs recommended (more cost)
  • Plugs need to be gapped to .022
ECU/TCU - Positive
  • More power and efficiency for a given octane level
  • ECU controls how much boost at launch
  • TCU controls torque targets, resulting in much harder launches
  • Boost standby option
  • Plugs stay at stock
  • Shift speed can be changed
  • Shift rpm can be changed
  • ECU/TCU install/removal is easier than JB4
  • Snaps, pops and bangs can be ordered
ECU/TCU - Negative
  • Higher price
  • Retune maybe required, which takes time to ship out, tune and send back
  • Can't switch to different "tunes or maps"
  • HKS plugs recommended (more cost)

^ you forgot to mention easiness to quickly remove a piggyback prior to a dealer visit…critical.

That’s the MAIN reason I went with the JB4…5 minutes or less to remove. 5 mins or less to put back. Zero warranty issues.

Once yer out of warranty…who cares. But most lease (I think).

Thanks, I added the clarification though the ECU/TCU is actually easier then JB4

yes unless you have arms and hands long like an Orangutan and skinny like a young nymph then good luck getting EWG connection on drivers side off plus everything else in 5 minutes :verydrunk:

Show the time slip or it is total bs.

Huh?

For what?
Verification why else. I here braggart stories all of the time. It is damn hard to get a good run down a regulation drag strip. Getting a good launch, perfect shifts, the phase of the moon.

Not only do you need the capability, you also need a flawless run. The odds of getting it on regular basis is pretty low.

A time slip is a pretty good verification. You have one or you don’t.

For me unless I'm just damn dumb or fat or both getting to the EWG at the bottom of turbo drivers side from above was challenging to say the least

No shit it's for verification. I'm asking for who's run?
