Yes, Mahle filters are outstanding, and they love the "cartridge" design. Mahle's were on my Mercedes and my Volvo's and were also cartridge style, but luckily you could access those from the top of the engine bay. Found out that John Deere uses the Mahle cartridges on a lot of their big tractors, as they regarded them as superior to anything else on the market. My Mercedes CLK 430 V8 actually cross referenced to a Deere filter in some systems... Go figure.

I would stick with the OEM Mahle's over anything else.

There is a TSB that mentions issues from not using OEM filters. It is not worth the risk. Mail order the filters. Saving $3 or $4 per filter every 7500 miles amounts to nothing.

I still mail order the OEM however in 5 packs. This saves me the aggravation of finding one as believe it or not the first time I bought one at the local dealer for the Gen2 5.0, they had 1 in stock. Here in Canada they wanted $23 for the OEM. Bought 5 OEM filters on line for $8 ea delivered in original Hyundai packaging. Have 3 left.

But, I think I can just about guarantee that if you use an out-of-spec filter on the 5.0, you will have a lot more than the referenced noise to worry about.

I like the Beck Arnley part # 041-0846, which is a Mahle OX351 filter, same as OEM. Just doesn't say Kia / Hyundai on it.

is this for the 2015 5.0L genesis? Amazon is saying it doesn't fit my vehicle.

I have nothing against K&N,love their air filters, but I would only use the OEM oil filters. Oil pressure and oil filters can get tricky with some model, so I just stick with OEM oil filters on my engines. Especially with the canister types with anti-drain back valves. Aftermarket cartridge types can have their own issues with the sides collapsing. Not that I heard that K&N filters do that, but have seen some other brands that have on internet videos.

Hyundai have some good filters so no need to experiment with an aftermarket oil filter in my opinion.

The V-8’s take about 8 quarts and I would want synthetic so I’m not even going to bother asking how much it would run me. If they up charge a $10 oil filter to $38 I would rather not do business with them. I only take my car there for warranty stuff

I understand. I wish we could get someone to provide us with a link to order from an online dealer. Although I admit, I haven't called the local dealers to see what they charge but all dealers in my area are at least 25 miles away, where I bought my car new is 50 miles away.

Agreed. I only paid about $8 for my filter at my local Hyundai dealership which came with all the gaskets and drain plug gasket.
