  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Went to Thanksgiving dinner at a relative. My Gen 2 was last to arrive and blocking driveway. When another relative had to leave before me - He asked "who owned the Chrysler?" In spite of the case of mistaken identitiy, I still enjoyed the day :D

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Unfortunately as we all know Chrysler has and has had wings on cars for a heck of a long time so I can see the confusion when people have had to much to drink. :D

To date, the car has been misidentified as: Chrysler 300, Aston Martin, Bentley and Audi.

YUCK! I feel your pain. :)

Yea, when I got mine over the summer and the first day I drove it to work, everyone confused it for a Bentley.

I've gotten the "is that a Chrysler" question on several occasions. However, everybody seems to really like the looks of the car and no non-Hyundai owner ever thinks it's a Hyundai - so they're surprised to find out it is. Most folks are just really curious as to what it is, but I've never had anyone mistake it for an Aston Martin or Bentley (which makes sense to me as it looks nothing like either, other than having a winged badge).

You can pick your friends and neighbors but not your relatives. Remind them come time to fill out the will. Lol

I consider the Chrysler 300 to be the number 1 enemy of the Genny. I guess I just don't like the car itself, and usually the people that drive it seem a bit arrogant. I feel your pain.

Haters gonna hate. :D

The majority of people don't have an eye for cars. If a Honda Civic didn't have badges they wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a Camry.

The story of my life with my dad.

Bet you wouldn't have that issue with a Gen 1!! :-)

I remember posting a pic to Instagram of my Gen1 before buying and somebody commented "is that a Maybach"? I was like "yes of course"

While I understand the angst around the '15 Genesis being confused with a Chrysler, I can tell you that many newer cars share the new swept back profile. I agree that the Chrysler 200 shares a similar look as do several others such as the Toyota Avalon and even the Nissan Altima to a certain extent. I also see the Genesis and A7 being similar (although I wish the Genesis had the hatchback!).

If my Genny is going to be confused with something, this is what I'd like it to be confused with... ;)

Got confused with a Bentley today, but I don't see it, I guess People just assume it must be some expensive brand and go for the logo similarity

Think about the Bentley owner when someone thinks he owns a 2015 Genesis.

I saw a red one the other day and almost honked. It wasn't until later when I realized he had a mesh grill, and discovered it was the Bentley.

Bentley has round headlights. The easiest way to tell the vehicle is not a Genesis from a distance.
