Is it still under warranty? Or is it considered to be 1 year/12,000 miles under the "bulb" exception? One headlight went out after just 2 years of use. Genesis 2015.
I've never had a headlight go out one me before period, even after a decade of use.
Is this an indication of a bigger issue?
Then it probably wont be covered. I'd get a pair of replacements from the retrofit source and do them both so they match. They aren't terribly expensive.

Where do you see 3 years/36,000 miles for Halogen bulbs in the link I provided above?Weird thing is that the warranty pamphlet doesn’t show anything about HID bulbs but Halogen bulbs are into the "bulb" exception covered by 3 years/36,000 miles warranty.
Problem is not the HID bulbs per se, the big deal is changing them, you need to take off the front bumper or do some magic with your fingers when installing them. If I have to do it again (I did it in my 1G) I would buy the Osram CBI and swap both bulbs.

The technician insisted that I make an appointment and have them look at it.
I took my car in today and they said they would replace the entire headlight assembly under warranty. Its crazy since to do this they will have to remove the bumper.
I'm happy and my wife is right once again.
