Our Thanksgiving trip from LaQuinta, CA to Venice, CA today reminded us just how loose the suspension’s rebound damping is.

The well-documented “SoCal freeway hop” really had our car bounding around - uncomfortably so.

Genesis, if you’re reading this, an OTA update that addresses this would be fantastic!

Despite everything that has been written here about what can improve the GV60, what is wrong with the GV60, etc., I nonetheless still believe that it is the best small electric vehicle out there. No other car in anything close to its price range is IMO equal and meets my desires for small size, performance and luxury. I say close to its price range as I think the Porsche Macan Electric does that but similarly configured, it is very, very much more expensive.

There will be one more in early 2060 but I don't know what it will cost: the Genesis Magma. That, IMHO, will be better because it will fix the one issue with the GV60 -- poor handling in the twisties.

When Genesis agreed to finally buy back my wife's 2023 GV60P because of a fatal flaw in the User Authorization system I said that we should look at every possible EV compact SUV alternative in the market. So we looked at Audi - awful, uncomfortable cars in every respect and horrible reviews, BMW iX - way too large and with appalling space usage, Ioniq 5 and EV6 - both felt like stripped down versions of the GV60, Volvo 40 recharge - just too....volvoish, Mercedes EQE SUV - that nearly made the cut but what it simply didn't have was the amazing space usage of the GV60, from the small frunk, to the flat rear floor to the amazing trunk with all kinds of nooks and crannies, to the interior small spaces for sunglasses, keys etc. In the end my wife was quite clear - she wanted another GV60P.
I agree with Steve - there is literally no other EV SUV in the class and price range that can compete directly feature for features with the GV60. So we got a 2024 GV60P at an amazing lease deal from Genesis Santa Monica and 18 months later the only issues have been the ICCU recall and now the windshield issue, which is not a problem yet, but we will get it taken care of soon.
My wife really uses the Facial Recognition feature a lot. She is a high end home organizer and her car is always full of containers, tools, label makers and other stuff she uses in her work. It all stays in the car until she needs it and she pops out often to get things and uses the FR to unlock the car. It's pity that Genesis has done away with it. It really was a unique feature that no-one else has.

Asking as a new GV60 owner- have you seen an evidence that the mothership implemented any requests from this thread?

What I noticed almost immediately is that activating remote start during cold weather doesn't turn on the seat and steering wheel heaters. Also, it would be nice if they automatically turned on with the "ignition" switch if the ambient weather is below a preset value- 40F or so. These features could be easily implemented with an OTA update.

FWIW I don't believe for one second that Genesis or Hyundai corporate takes any notice of anything from their customers. They are and will always be Korean - Convinced of their intellectual superiority over American consumers and their irrational requirements. Proof of this was in the incredibly botched promo giving away Tesla NACS adapters. They screwed it up royally but all you ever got from Hyundai/Genesis customer service was obfuscation and deflection. They turned what should have been a really nice gesture, giving away a freebie, into a pain point and a rallying issue for owners to turn away from the brand.
If they had any smarts they would look at what their high end competitors offer. A really ridiculous issue is that you cannot close an open window with the key fob or app if you accidentally left it open. Mercedes and BMW have that as a standard feature, so clearly it is possible and has no legal roadblocks in the US. The Genesis GV60 manual says you can do it, but in reality you can only lower the windows, not raise them. This issue has been talked about on this and every other Genesis forum, but nothing has been done to unlock a feature that is clearly built in to the car already.

I am an admin on another car forum, I had serious problems with my car and the service manager at my dealer told me that corporate was very aware of them. But despite them watching the forum, all software updates were limited to bug fixes.

You called it, spot on. I still can't get over how you can get an OEM tow bar in UK, Europe for GV60 and other E-GMP vehicles everywhere but impossible for a GV60 in North America, wtf.

Alas, at the cost of significantly less range and not insignificant price bump, as if GV60 performance is not already on the marginally limiting side of range. I would absolutely buy a Magma and in the lava orange if it had a bigger battery, likely not going to happen so the wallet is safe

The Sport mode tightening of the seat bolster has never been fixed. Very sad.

Once you shut off the car, the preference you select to enable the feature is disabled. It is like launching a space shuttle with all the buttons you have to press when starting the vehicle to get the features you want...

It also remembers some regen settings, but not all of them, to be even more confusing. This car needs a preflight checklist, like an airplane.

I would move the binnacle speedometer to be in the centre of the wheel. Mostly I can’t see it when driving with hands on the wheel. It’s good that it has the HUD to use instead. Unbelievably poor interface design. IMHO. Peter
