  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Other cool cars like the G70

Where? Haven't seen a single press release or news report with the price.
Just shared in a release to the Lexus dealer. 66K for launch addition of 500 units. Another trim will be 62-63K and a base model of 56K as speculated!

I'll believe it when I see it lol. Not even the folks at Lexus Enthusiast have said a word about this, and they're always on top of the news.

Believe what you want. I have no reason to make it up. You heard it here first. ; )

I have thought of Honda as not an automobile company but as an engine company. Creative and advanced engines of all sizes from those the size of your fist in a yard whacker to giant marine engines as big as a house, and all between. Create the most advanced engine for the purpose and then co-ordinate with the rest of the departments for a sharp appearance, fine interior and all the rest. It starts with the engine, or at least it used to.
Related story…from this very week. Had my Honda HRB mower sitting in my garage. 21 years old.

Stopped using it 6 years ago…got a nice Hustler.

I have not touched it in 6 years. Decided to sell. Washed it all up to make it look great. Poured some 93 into it. Started on 2nd pull…I kid you not. Holy shit. I was floored.

Sold in 2 days :)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Hopefully it lives up to expectations...

Strange they are still so focused on ICE and trying to live the past when most other car makers are abandoning ICE for electric...

There's rumors that it's just the next-gen ILX with a name change. Which would make a lot of sense since the Integra has always been based on the Civic.

Introducing a new ICE coupe in 2022 is just suicide.

So basically a reskinned civic SI. I think a lot of Intergra-nostalgic fanboys will be disappointed lol. I'd rather get an Elantra N for a fun FWD sedan.

Really brutally honest review of the IS350. It's fun to see Lexus fanboys trying to rationalize how the IS500 is totally different from the 350. I feel like banging my head on a wall when Lexus fanboys try to argue why the Is350 is a better car than the G70. It doesn't compete on any level except for reliability and better service, which are moot points for sports sedan buyers who mostly lease.

Totally different V8 engine that is naturally aspirated and produces 475hp. That’s pretty different. Will also have more tech, so yeah, there are some significant differences. I would argue that reliability and service are also pretty important. That said, I’m not a Lexus fanboy, but also not a Genesis fanboy either.

What are you driving these days man? Update your sig!

Todd? Hey, good to see you check in. How are things? Driving an RS3??

I'm driving a wagon. Lifted, all terrain tires, flood lights on the roof.

It's ugly, it's loud (I put a custom exhaust on), it's slow; but it's got AWD and works great off road and in the snow. Even has leather heated seats and a sunroof!

Yes those lights are custom installed by me. I've actually done a lot of work on it - so much room in that engine bay compared to the G70!

It's a great kid hauler, also plenty of room grabbing stuff from Home Depot.

We recently bought a house (finally), but I'm finally now starting to save up for the down payment on my next car. Most likely that will be the next generation RS3, but I'm still keeping my options open. I'm interested to see if Mazda actually comes out with a sports car using their new straight 6 engine.

Thanks for the update! Congrats on the house purchase. It's a tough time to do that. That's a very practical, useful vehicle, but glad to hear you're saving up for something special and fun too.
It will be interesting to see where Mazda goes with their new engine.

Why did you get rid of your G70?

ah, to heck with all these new rides. i think i'm gonna take some of my COVID savings and 'invest' in an old flame of mine. if everything works out, i'll be picking up this:

1628888587788.png

2003 540i M-Sport, 6MT of course.

if a 330CI ZHP (ZAM in Canada) pops up before i write the cheque i could switch to that, but the 540i M-Sport is much rarer so that's what has piqued my interest.

ideally i'll mess around with it for a few years, enjoy the dying breed of V8/RWD/NA-ICE/6MT sedans, and sell it for what i paid (or more). i.e. drive it for free!

Nice choice! Those are beautiful, inside and out, solid as a rock.

Oh yes, the market is terrible. Sadly we absolutely paid WAY more than our home is worth. But, at least we're not throwing our money away on rent anymore and we're actually building equity instead. I don't think the prices will go down in this area anytime soon. But, what do I know? Lol.

I like the wheels

Thanks! They turned out pretty good... Here's another pic.

I posted a thread a long time ago when i let it go. Here...

Heck yes! That will be sweet!!!!

LOL…I might get the new Bronco

Dude, the new Bronco looks awesome. I've seen a bunch Bronco Sports, and even those look pretty good. My brother in law wants one, I don't think you can go wrong with it.

I don't think a V8 engine will add much to a car that many rank near the bottom of the hierarchy of sports sedans. Their auto transmission is also very dated and way beind the competition, including the G70. I am sure it will sell well given the large fanbase and also the nostalgia factor, but real performance won't be its merit until Lexus releases a full F version.

Reliability would only be really important for used owners, alas most buyers are leasing their sports sedans so they won't give 2 craps about it. It's not like the G70 or any of the germans are horribly unreliable for the first 3 years. I give Lexus credit for their service but you spend like 3 to 4 hours a year for service there so not much to it.

I am not saying the G70 is perfect either and all honesty if I had to replace my G70 I'd prolly go to a m340i for that sweet inline 6. But I don't think the IS500 is going to be all that special, and many enthusiasts are going to be disappointed (kind of hinted at by savagegeese near the end of the video). It will still sell well given the large fanbase for lexus but most enthusiasts will likely pass it over for other sports sedans.
