  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Over Inflated Hankooks and Not Enough Oil

A couple of posts on this thread describe the Hankook tire ride as smooth or not an issue. Is that the general impression, or do others have a differing opinion on the smoothness of the ride?

For me and my V6 AWD, smooth around town or on local highways, but at interstate speeds of 70+ mph, I will be generous and call the ride "busy" at best. Anyone else?

I have the 5.0 Ultimate so it isn't a comparison to yours but I find the ride on mind good at all speeds with the exception of the flat spotting issues when car sits over night. That goes away in short order so not a real issue for me either.

Interesting because I was hoping it was due to the tires not being inflated properly. At higher speeds it is a bit "wobbly" or something. Not sure how to describe it but there is something there.

v6 AWD also.

Thought of that but then its a guessing game and have to check and recheck all 4 tires. Then if I go too far I have to go fill them back up. I just figured they would have an easy way to do it. Plus its like 30 degrees out.

For tire inflation, I use:

1. A good digital gauge (amazon has a bunch)

2. A portable air tank

3. An air compressor to keep #2 filled.

I usually check the tires cold in the morning - preferably on a cloudy day.

I do it on a schedule every two months - tires usually lose about 1 lb. a month so I overinflate by 1 lb.

It works for me - I would never trust a dealer or anybody else for this sort of thing.
