Okay, so i am having an issue with the rear parking sensors on my 2015. It seems like now they don’t want to work well when it’s raining. If I put it into reverse if it doesn’t work it will show an error on the screen with an x through the rear parking sensors and make an error sound. The front ones work fine. Could this have to do with some recent rear bumper work I had? Also, the little rubber piece around the sensors is peeling. The dealer told me those are essential for proper operation because they keep them in angle, but the shop that did the work I went back to said that “it’s not important”. So is that rubber around important? Also, I think one of the sensors is slightly out of angle so that may be the cause. I told the shop this and asked if they had this happen before and they said not often.
I should mention last year in 2022 while driving in the sleet the rear parking sensors didn’t work and errored out, but I understand because there was probably some sleet on the sensors. Other than that, it has not errored out at all between that time and before the repair.
I’m attaching a picture of one of the rear parking sensor and one of the front so you can see what I’m talking about with the rubber around it.
Any help is appreciated!
