If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hey all.

So today something went wrong with the passenger side door.

The lock button inside will not work (will not lock or unlock and doors), power window button does not work (cannot open window from driver side either, when using the remote or the unlock button inside(driver side only)/out it only locks and unlocks driver door (rest will not lock or unlock). At one point when you try to lock with the outside button it wouldn't even beep (only just locks the driver door). The windows in the rear are operable and can be opened and closed with the driver door controls. When reversing the passenger mirrors will not go down even if selected for to go down.

Very very odd. It seems something is wrong related to the passenger door. Any takes or had similar issues? I will be taking it to the dealer coming monday or tuesday.

I hope it isnt something big.

Cheers,

Dealer is your best bet.

I'll lay 20:1 odds its the wiring harness. Betcha something worked loose.

OK hope this helps you out, when you open your passenger door you will see the rubber boot that covers up the wire harness where the door hinges are, slide back the rubber boot on the car side not the door side and there you will see the wire harness plug , now you can try & unplug the plug and plug it back up or just make sure that the plug didnt come unplugged, now if this doesnt help you then take it to the dealer as i couldnt help you any further unless the car was in front of me, good luck

Thanks for the reply guys.

I did what MADMOE told me. I removed the rubber hose boot thing on the car side, and it didn't seem to have a plug.. just wires to this black plastic thing which i cant take out, but it moves a little. Either way I cant seem to get the hose back on securely. any tips?

Thanks.

I have already. It isnt the problem. Thanks though!

I guess the best way is to bring it in.

MADDMOE is correct. The rubber boot he is talking about is between the upper and lower door hinges and it goes into the A-pilar between those hinges. The "big plastic thing" is a 29-pin connector on the A-pilar. It's a pain in the butt to get at it too. It's the main harness connector for everything in the door.

It provides connections to: the door module, door lock actuator, power outside mirror, all the speakers, smart outside handle, power window module, and the door lamp. All of these are items you mentioned don't work on your front passengers door. You should check to see if the door lamp on the bottom of the door comes on when you open it...and listen to your speakers to see if any sound is coming out. I'll bet the light is out and there is no sound. All of these indicate that somehow the 29-pin connector has become disconnected.

Thanks guys for your help. Dealer had it fixed. It was an bad connection within the door panel. Nothing was broken. Good as new :P

well now i would ask myself how can it have been just a bad connection inside the door panel , if the door panel has never been removed.....? but im glad you got it fixed . one thing i found out about this genesis is that , this car is very easy to work on if you know what are doing...........enjoy

I have no clue. My guess is maybe it wasn't perfect to begin with. Couple of door slams and there it goes.

As long as there are no other problems it should be alright.
