  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have agreed in principle to purchase an '09 3.8 with the technology package (cooled driver seat, Lexicon stereo, navigation, rear sunshade, etc) with about 73,000 mi. for $15,000

I have already scheduled an inspection at my local hyundai dealership before I hand a check to the seller.

Does this price seem reasonable if the vehicle is in clean condition??

Any feedback appreciated before I get it inspected in a few days.

Thanks in advance.

Drive it before you buy it !! I mean really drive it over all types of roads.

I didn't have a complete description of the car or condition so used what I think it has as far as options and estimated condition as above average.

Edmunds.com appraises the car at $16,013 private sale and $18,100 for dealer retail. So it sounds like you are in the ballpark. Have the mechanics go over it thoroughly and pay special attention to problems reported with this particular year and model (the dealer should know what those are).

I now own the vehicle!!!

15k seemed fair for this fully loaded excellently maintained vehicle.

I hope to get many years from her!!

Congrats. I have 130k miles on mine and its one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned.

Wish my 2010 Genny was reliable. bought used w/36K a year ago and been in the shop at 10 times for repairs....... not maintenance. Only 45K miles now..... if I'm going to keep it, I'll have to go back to the dealer to buy an extended warranty which I declined at time of purchase...... little did I know............. *sigh*

Sounds like you got a bad one which is few and far between. 38k on my 2010 and no issues other than the tilt steering wheel and brake fluid/module recall.
