  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picking up my new 2014 Genesis RSPEC on Thursday!

Is the yellow tape on the trunk to cover the holes where the badge was?

Did you request to have it debadged?

Yes guys, I had the dealership de-badge the new car for me. They did a really good job, and saved me some time, it was a win win! I also got them to tint the windows for me as part of the deal. That dealership in Wilmington, NC is top notch in my opinion!

Hi Stogge, welcome to the club man!

I had a 2011 4.6 with the tech package, and after putting 80K miles on it, traded it ;last month for a 2014 R-spec, and I am loving it! The build is so smooth, and the tech package is a bit better. One thing Hyundai does is actually listen to their customers, so I've taken the time to do several surveys, and get to see those incorporated into their new cars, which I think it's pretty awesome.

Enjoy the car, it's probably the best overall value for any vehicle in this class!

I have an insurance company (Nationwide) nanny plugged in to my OBDII port, which records every move I make and reports it to the ins co weekly. After 6 months of "safe driving" I get a 30% discount on my insurance premium for life. "Safe driving" is defined as driving less than 8,000 miles/year (projected) and fewer than some small number of "hard accelerations" (accelerating faster than 7.7 mph per second) and "hard braking" (slowing harder than 7.7 mph per second). This is not that hard to achieve as long as you drive pretty conservatively. 30% is a significant savings, and at least some of us retired guys need to save where we can.
Do you know that the devise you have records your personal information, where ever you go or do. Also you dont own this information ,Nationwide does. Information recorded , can be sold, to the other guys attorney and is sold to many marketing companies. There are online references that attorneys tell their friends and clients not to get this device . I would put it under my tire and run over it --- or simply give it back. Dont recommend it to anyone , you are doing them an injustice. Thanks--- Also , this could cost you your lifes worth , without you even knowing.

Could you share where you got a an all inclusive extended warranty including nav, amp, and hopefully all the safety tech (cc, lane, blind spot, etc)? The thought of having to dump thousands into a 3+ year old car gives some concern. Thanks

Nonsense. Where do people get these ideas? ...oh, yeah, now I remember - if it's on the Interwebs it's bound to be true!

Hi Stogge,

This is my very first on post on this site and I have to say that I am extremely jealous of your purchase. I have been lusting for a white R-spec since 2012 and to this day have never ever seen one in person. If I were living in you area, that car would have been sold a long time ago!

Having said that, I had to settle for a black R-spec, which I have babied ever since I bought it since last April. It is currently in my garage waiting for the salt and snow to go away. This is the best car I have ever owned, but white would have been even better!

I was originally planning on buying a 2015, but did not like the styling as much. In my opinion, generation 2 should have evolved from the first generation styling.

Hey, well I guess this is good luck for me then! Yeah, I never thought I would go for a white car, but this one just jumped out at me!

Black was what I originally set out to get, but the deal was on the white one, so here we are! Love the car, and these forums! Happy to be part of the genesis community!

I like seeing her in the driveway, thats for sure!

Thanks for posting the latest pictures. What a great looking car!

White seems to photograph better than black also. Dust shows up within minutes after washing mine, so I need to photograph it quickly.

Sure thing man, lets see some pics of that black beauty! :)

I am trying to figure out how to show them on here without it degrading the photo so much. I tried reducing a photo of the car down to the file size and dimensions specified on this site with photoshop, but they lose their sharpness and detail.

I noticed that you use links, does that produce a better looking photo? Because your photos look fantastic!

Hey Rawhide, yeah, uploading to a site like photo-bucket to host, and then you can just copy the IMG codes over to the forum. That is the only way that I have ever done it...

Here's a black 2014 R-Spec :)

I traded in my 2013 Genny Coupe 3.8 Track MT and picked this up in September.
The white looks sharp too. My Genesis Coupe was white but I liked how the trim pops with the black on the Genesis Sedan.

@Craw, wow there's a Genesis across the street from you? Here I was getting excited at just having another one in my complex.

@videopho, that trunk lip looks damned good.

Hi All,

First, let me say congrats and that your new 2014 R-Spec is beautiful!!!

I was a 2011 4.6 owner and sold it because I just didn't care for the ride. The suspension wasn't very sorted out. But otherwise, I loved the car.

I went over to a Mercedes and guess what - I am back to a 2014 Genesis! The Mercedes was just not reliable.

I purchased a 2014 Genesis R-Spec left over. It is Perisian Grey which is very pretty, although I kind of wanted the White.... Anyway, the car was $36,500 out the door including a wrap warranty for 10yrs 100k miles. This way I am fully covered on everything without worry for the NAV or any other potentially expensive component.

I also agree on the 2014 vs 2015. I know the 15 has more tech goodies, but I didn't care for the look and more than that - I was able to buy a $48k car for $36.5 out the door with a wrap warranty!

The R-Spec ride on the 2014 is so much more balanced than the 2011 4.6 I had. The steering also is much better. Plus the few things in the 2011 that were lacking in the Lexicon system (such as Bluetooth Streaming) are now in the 2014. Seems Hyundai does listen to customer feedback.

I rebadged my 2011 myself and my 2014 myself. Takes a few mins to change over to the wings.

Living in New Hampshire does have it's drawbacks. First of all, you are required to have a front plate. Also the huge amount of salt they pour on the roads everyday. Salt and nice cars just do not mix.

I noticed that all the photos (both the white and black ones) do not have front license plates. That definitely makes these Genesis' look much better.

Seeing those black R specs makes me want to wash and detail my car, but unfortunately I can't until these huge snow mountains disappear. I am so sick of all this snow.
