  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pics of my G70

I got the Prestige in HR because I liked the 10 spoke wheels better than the dark 5 spoke but seeing at yours let me tell you that it looks freaking awesome too!
Nice but I still like the look of the 10 spoke on the HR.

I was very close to getting a set of 10-spokes for mine... but I think I'm good for a while! Maybe if I nick these enough, it will give me a good excuse. HOPEFULLY NOT!

When I got my G70 I liked the five spoke rims. Then I saw the 10 spoke in person and thought they were a little nicer. I realized the genesis 10 spoke wouldn’t match the dark chrome very well though. Then I started to notice that every Lexus, Audi, BMW, etc. seems to have a 10 spoke (5 split spoke design) aftermarket rim. It seems to be the most common style I see now and even other manufacturers are using it on their cars. I have gravitated back to really liking the Genesis 5 spoke as it’s unique and more uncommon. Super easy to keep clean and the barrels clean too.

Once the PS4 tires need to be replaced, you guys could replace the wheels too and get a squared tire setup. It would cost a bit extra to replace the wheels, but the money you save over time on tires from not having a staggered setup is greater and could justify new wheels.

The thought has absolutely crossed my mind. (y)

Maybe a couple owners can do a swap? One car will end up with 225s all around while the other has 255s.

Calipers and body color match, a great look. My last car was a red, close to this, and I had the calipers painted to match. Fine, really fine.

How does having a square setup save money on tires? Rotating tires just means that all the tires wear evenly, and you replace all four at once. Having a staggered setup means the rears wear out first, and you replace them when they are worn, and replace the fronts when they are worn. Total tire use is the same.

I was just about to say, your car would look *perfect* with a set of 10-spoke wheels! ;)

In fact, these exact wheels are the ones I was thinking of:DSC_0575r.webp

Are you putting the smaller to match the front? You need either two OEM wheels or four aftermarket wheels. Depending on what you buy, I think a minimum of $1000 either way. That would buy enough tires to drive at least 60,000 miles.

That aside, I don't see much of a difference overall with staggered tires. They may not wear even but the overall wear is about the same no matter the position. You will probably get less miles from the rear, especially if you drive more spirited. If you put the smaller front size on the rear it may wear even faster.

I figure Genesis engineers spent a lot of time and tires testing the optimal setup. I'd stick with it.

Here she is. Picking up my beast today. Dynamic Edition
