  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My ride finally has its own home, owning a garage for the first time in my life, feels great! After washing my car for the first time on my driveway: View attachment 22098

My garage in the last house was my wood shop so the car sat out. Now it is inside. Nice isn't it? You won't have to wash as often.
Enjoy your ride!

Thanks all, it is indeed nice not having to worry about door dings from neighbors, hail/snow, or bird droppings, but I get the bad feeling my wife or I will end up scraping it since the 2 car garage feels a bit tight with both cars inside as both of us are not used to parking in a home garage. Kind of wish I had the 360 camera now but to help I bought some parking floor strips to help train myself. The peace of mind overall though is liberating.

For my wife’s garage side I have a laser device on the ceiling that comes on via a sensor and I have it adjusted to put a dot on a dash screw when in correct parked position. You simply watch the red beam come up the hood and when it’s on it’s mark you stop. Wife figured it out pretty easy and no arguing over crowding my side.

Something to try. Back in. That way you do have a view with the rear camera and can line up with something like your strips. I look in the right side mirror to get the distance to the door frame and then use the camera to be withing an inch of a line.

When the house was being built I had the option for the garage made 4 feet longer too and that is very nice to have.

Detailed all three this weekend. My arm is tired ! Even waxed the rv lol. And no my driveway doesn’t normally look like this we are prepping for a trip. Adding a little diversity to the forum. Ha.

So are you putting a fifth wheel on the trunk of the Genesis to pull the camper?

I run without a front plate, not because it's legal in my state, but because I'm a street pirate.

Now with my luck I'll get a ticket because I've advertised it to the world. Haha.

In Cali, they have never ticketed me for it. Unless the cop has free time on his hand and nothing to do, you should be safe haha

I lived in Vancouver (aka North Portland) for 40 years and never ran a front plate on any car. Just kept it in the trunk and if ever pulled over I’d just say it came off and haven’t got the bracket for the parts department to reinstall it. Did get pulled over in my 71 Cougar by WSP and got a warning. Put it on and had the WSP office validate it, drove 2 blocks down the street stopped and pulled it off and threw it back in the trunk. Never got stopped again.
