  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I will re-post after I add the Genesis Wing Pack here soon....thanks for looking and I hope others are enjoying their Genny as much as I am mine...Please add pictures of your Genesis after mine in this posting /cheers :)

The pics do not display in my browser - I checked the urls and see that they are hosted on photobucket.com. Our company LAN blocks access to all sites like photobucket (snapfish, youtube, basically any high bandwidth sites). I'll check them out @ home this evening...

sorry that the pic's are blocked for you, the links are working correctly though I hope. They are displaying on my screen and my laptops...thanks for looking, hope you enjoy them !! :)

Nice pics. What does the electric supercharger do for you?

Are those Genesis Coupe wheels? Did you ask for those or did they just come on the car?

Those are the V8 wheels. Yup,...I checked the rear on one of his pics and no "4.6" badge.

Interesting........:welcome:

Nice pics, So you were at the Tint shop...what % tint did you get?

Rather than trying to post my pix to this thread, just click on my name in the upper left hand corner, then click on Public Profile. You'll find an album there of my Black/black 2009 3.8 V6 just after I gave it its first coat of Zaino Z-5.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Air Blue 80 is almost as clear of a tint as you can get..the name Air Blue is very deceiving to the real properties of the film..while it does have the very slightest bit of blue in it the stuff is almost transparent while providing you 99.9% UV reduction and 43% Heat Reduction and 15% Glare Reduction. Optical Clarity is 100%, zero interference with electronics in the car.

The tires are Dunlop 235/50 R18's 97V M+S, but I didn't know that they were from the 4.6L Genesis. I just thought it was an upgrade to the stock 17" wheels. They are really nice though and provide a lot of traction in both wet and dry weather. The only thing that the service tech warned me about is people only getting 25-30k out of a set of tires due to them having a very soft compound. Works for me though, the grip they have is quite nice when your taking it through curves etc... My wings arrived today so I will get them put on within the next day or two and post some new pictures showing them. All the Hyundai badges will be gone, which is a great way to get more people asking about who makes the car !!

The Electric Supercharger is bumping me from the stock 290HP up to 320HP at the Wheel (where the rubber meets the road). It is only operational when the throttle is wide open (foot to the floor), otherwise the unrestricted airflow itself has bumped me roughly 10HP. It gives a solid 3lb. boost @ 29kRPM with less than 1/10th of a second delay. When your not gunning it down the road it sits idle waiting for the moment you call upon it :)... My gas mileage has also improved due to a more direct flow of air into the engine.

Does anyone know of a company producing an Exhaust System for the 3.8L Sedan? I see tons of stuff for the coupes and the 4.6L but nothing much about the 3.8's.... If anyone knows of something for this please let me know here in the post or in a Private message..... Thanks a bunch and if you all have any other questions just let me know.......Bruce.

Thanks Ashdump :), I appreciate the comment !! ...I tried to look for some pics of your Genny in your profile but didn't see any. Please post a few I would love to see yours, I'm sure that 4.6L is a sweet ride and the performance gain out of the bigger engine must really feel good as you let your foot roll forward on the pedal.

...the majority of the ones sitting at the dealership were either white, black or silver with a couple of royal blue coupes in the mix. This one was sitting between 4 white ones and once I saw that the packages I wanted were on it I was sold lol.

The dealer was nice enough to let me take it on an extended test drive and just asked that I have it back by around noon time the next day, during that time I put it through the paces and make sure I was truly happy with my decision.

There is a very well maintained county road not far from me with a mix of long straight a way's and nice curves to let tires get sticky in. It's one of those middle of nowhere roads your all to happy to run across with a posted speed limit of 65-70MPH, so I let the car open up some and it was more then happy to oblige. One stretch of the road is virtually straight for 5 miles and has a speed limit in that straight-away of 70MPH. I slowly worked the car up to about 90MPH or so and listened closely for road and wind noises of which I heard almost nothing at all. The drag coefficient rating of .27 seems to really do this car some justice and shows me that Hyundai did their homework in keeping the car quiet at speed and stable feeling. The only noise to really be heard was the tires but it was an enjoyable sound :D

I'm just hitting the 750 mile marker and once she is ready for her 1st oil change I will be sending it in for a chemical breakdown (metals in the oil and other impurities). This can let you know if your engine is going to prematurely fail on you and if it really has a bad problem (water/gas in the oil), you might catch it early enough on to stop it from becoming an expensive repair. It only cost $23 for them to do a complete test, they provide you with the kit you need at no charge. Make sure to order the kit a few weeks ahead of when your going to get the oil changed. Here is a link to their site and the service for the $:

I plan on keeping my car for many years to come and it is the least I can do for it to make sure that the engine is staying at top performance levels and wearing in correctly. I always use Lucas's Oil Stabilizer once I take the car in for the 1st oil change and switch over to a Synthetic oil.. of which I prefer Penzoil Ultra. We all have a personal favorite oil and this just happens to be mine. The metals and other stuff in your oil should become less and less as each oil change takes place, if it stays high after a few changes then it could be a sign that your engine is on the way to an early retirement.

Do you have a pic on the "electric supercharger?

Great Blue-Gameday-what have you used for wax/sealant?

Looks great Gameday...Congratulations. Who is the manufacturer of the electric supercharger? Is there a website I can check out?

Great Blue-Gameday-what have you used for wax/sealant?

I use Meguiar's NXT Generation 2.0 which keeps the car looking like it's wet and has a deep luster to it. I have also heard that Zaino's is an excellent wax, but it is much more expensive as it requires a polymer wax cure/bonding agent to be used with it so you can apply multiple coats in a shorter period of time. I wax my car 2 days in a row vs. spending the extra $ on the Zaino's product and accomplish the same thing. The wax beads up water right away and gets it off your car with a quick punch of the accelerator :).... Meguiar's NXT Wax is only $13 on Amazon or about $16 local in most automotive stores.

The entire NXT 2.0 wash/wax/tire care kit with applicator sponge and detailing cloth is only $25 on Amazon which is a steal. It also includes a 22 ounce spray bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer in that price. It gives you the same full size bottle of wax along with the NXT car wash, NXT Insane Tire Shine, and Quik Detailer along with the applicator and detail cloth. These would cost over $40 individually anywhere else and it has free shipping to boot...in my opinion you can not beat this deal. You can also get the wax in a paste or spray form depending on how u prefer to apply it. I like the liquid version of it myself which is in the kit.....Enjoy !! :grouphug:

Here is a link to the kit on Amazon:

Thanks for the information on the NXT.

Stoofpilot, I'm a Zaino nut myself. I used to use Meguiar's 1,2,3. NXT is new to me so I can't comment on Gameday22's experience. What I have liked most about the Zaino, besides the fact that the car looks great, is that it lasts so long.

I have an old Miata that is starting to get some surface rust on it. I did the last Zaino on it around 2006 and haven't touched it since. The good paint areas still look fabulous.

I'd certainly be tempted to try Meguiar's NXT based on what I just read above.

Nice pics. What does the electric supercharger do for you?

Here's what I found -

Electric supercharger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An electric supercharger is a specific type of supercharger that uses an electrically powered forced air system that contains a electric motor to drive an axial flow fan to pressurize the intake air while it rids the inlet and filter box of most restriction. It is designed to operate only at full throttle, since this is the only time when the throttle butterfly-valve is fully open and out of the way of the engine's intake. By pressurizing the air available to the engine intake system, the air becomes more dense, and is matched with more fuel producing the increased horsepower to the wheels.[non-primary source needed][1] In simpler terms, the typical electric supercharger will increase the horsepower of an automobile by an average of 5 to 8.5% up to 22% on newer superchargers.[citation needed]

Electric superchargers vs. Belt Driven
In general, while electric superchargers are less expensive than belt-driven superchargers, the horsepower boost that they provide is also significantly less.[citation needed]

Heya Scottdk :)...

I don't know why the post stopped telling me when people left a new reply to my thread but your 100% correct on the electric supercharger.

The only advantage this system has over a conventional supercharger (sometimes referred to a a blower) is less parts that have to be bolted/welded on and there is no belt, chain or gearing of any sort being added to the engine. It is a lot less work by far and still provides decent results. As stated it can produce some significant boost to your cars horsepower. There are several companies that produce electric driven superchargers, which one you pick usually winds up being a matter of personal taste.

Most people will not choose to go with a product like this because the fact of the matter is it will surely void your warranty on the engine/transmission (at least that is my guess). I was willing to take this risk but I'm not sure that I would suggest it if you don't have the $$ to put out on a new engine or other parts should something go wrong.

A simpler product to use is a performance booster chip that is removable and has no way of being detected that it was ever on the vehicle to begin with, unless you accidentally leave it there when taking your car in for repairs...but even then it might not be noticed as it is only a small chip add-on. The results are not as good but you can still gain 20-30hp if tweaked out correctly according to what I have read on them..possibly more depending on how aggressive you get with the settings.

I don't dog the car or mash the pedal to the floor all the time, but it's surely fun to make a rice burner wonder what in the hell just happen  when a sled of a sedan gets up off the light and leaves them eating dust :D
