  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Let’s add more as they come in..

The new Genesis G70 strengthens Genesis brand identity, aligning all existing models with current Athletic Elegance design philosophy
Enhances existing market-proven driving performance credentials and leading safety features
Driver-centered interior and 10.25-inch infotainment system upgrades user experience
Seoul, Sept. 9th 2020 - Genesis revealed the new Genesis G70 with a few images prior to start of sales which will happen first in Korea next month. Launched in 2017, the luxury sports sedan has an athletic design, dynamic driving performance and leading safety features. It attracted such achievements as the 2018 Good Design Award (Transportation Design Division), 2019 North American Car of the Year and Top Safety Pick+ recognition from the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The new Genesis G70 features enhancements which focus on an athletic exterior design evolution, a driver-centered interior and state-of-the-art technology update leveraging features found within the Genesis lineup.

The signature crest grill set even lower than the Quad Lamps which spread outward evokes a sprinter’s pre-race posture and highlights the new Genesis G70’s position, as the most athletic sports sedan by Genesis.

In profile, side air extractors optimized for efficiency, show a form-follows-function mentality while the sensuous surface around the front wheels expresses the powerful muscles of a sports sedan.

Rearward, Quad Lamp taillights inspired by the soaring wings of the Genesis logo, clearly identifies with a distinctive Genesis aesthetic. The full width G-Matrix mesh and body colored diffusers surround the oval exhaust tips add finishing touches to the exterior design.

The interior leverages a driver-centered architecture resembling a fighter jet cockpit and adds the latest connectivity specifications. To provide a seamless user experience,
a new 10.25-inch infotainment system features an exclusive Genesis UI design supporting the latest over-the-air (OTA, wifi update feature) wireless updates, Valet mode and CarPay. In addition, the wireless charging system has been changed to a horizontal layout, increasing convenience for those with ever-changing smartphone sizes.

"The new Genesis G70 will engage customers with its dynamic design and the latest innovations in safety and luxury," a Genesis official said. "We are thrilled to reveal more detailed specifications next month."

I’m a big fan of the new 2021 G80 design but I have mixed feelings about this one. What works on the G80 doesn’t work here. The rear looks ok but don’t really like the front end treatment and the wheels. I much prefer the more sinister look of the present design. I do like the new interior color looks like dark red. Thanks for the view Sal.

Front looks weird for me too "soft" and too damn busy with all the grills, vents and now 4 headlights. Gives me mercedes vibes

I'm the opposite. I like the front but dislike the rear... the way the tail lights are placed bothers me. Side profile is killer tho.

Hey, here’s an idea. Let’s make all of the Genesis line look the same. Bollocks!

Agreed. I get that they want to have a brand identity (or to use the popular current phrase, Design language), but the tendency is to make the car models all look the same, like the BMW 3, 5, 7 series. Just like sausages, small medium and large.

Saving my pennies for the 2022. I love mid cycle refits on cars. 2021's are already on the lot here in Pa however curious as to why Genesis designers did not carry the red LED taillight lens into the trunk like the rest of the line up? Cost cutting? Will the purple interior make it to the US?

Just tint the lens and you will not see the 4 individual projectors. LOL. Incredible how small they are making LEd headlights these days and have them still get the IIHS Safety pick + rating.

I think that interior is Cordovan Brown

Definitely like the changes. I was always about 75-80% on board, but this face lift definitely gives it a luxury identity
Looking forward to seeing if the 3.3T continues or the 3.5T. Only other item I had a problem was with the interior.

I owned numerous Hyundai's over the years and they were good (1997 Tiburon, 1999 Sonata, 2003 Tiburon, 2010 Genesis Coupe). Made the mistake of owning a few Audi S4's and never left German. The first G70 I sat in at the auto show, it felt a bit cheap, better then the Stringer, but the Buick Regal was great at the time. I hope they put a bit more effort in interior materials as well and it will be a tough car to pass up.

Looking forward to next year!!! Maybe that clutch for my Golf R won't be replaced after all, I haven't heard anything but positive about the G70 for it's driving characteristics

Engineering-wise, Genesis has come a long way since 2010.

Should have kept the boomerang in some form. Overall like it but looks more mini-G80 than a distinctive sporty model.
Also nice to see a shift lever, not a dial.

I just hope the new center screen resolution is higher and the surround view cameras are of HD resolution. Do I see a glimpse of a digital instrumentation panel in the one press photo? States Genesis is getting it's own UI instead of a Hyundai carryover which is nice.

Definitely looks digital to me.

Wouldn't mid getting the blindspot camera in the instrument cluster a la Kia K900

I believe that will be an option (BVM) blind view monitor as it is available on the refreshed Kia Stinger and the 2022 G80 and GV80 and G90.

The G70 you sat in felt cheap? I think it’s on par with the competition in terms of material.
