  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pictures of the new G70

I had both. The leather, wood, plastics were nicer in the Lusso to me. Can't beat that leather dash in creama....
I would like to see them add some real wood trim in the 2022 G70. My 2010 Lexus IS250 has a splash of wood here and there that was very tasteful but did not detract from the sporty character of the rear wheel drive car.

Wood trim?? :puke:

The "quilts" in the G70 don't seem as premium as what's in the GV80, being a lot flatter and having a simpler pattern (also, less is more).

Would also say doesn't look as premium as the new quilted seats in the KDM Stinger, as well as the Palisade (the quilted door inserts in the Palisade look better).

I've always preferred the quilting style of the Prestige trim over the Sport - much more luxurious looking (more similar to newer models) with the elongated diamonds, especially on the doors, where the diamonds are for some unknown reason vertically oriented on the Sport. And I still think it's ridiculous that the Sport was only offered with black seats, really hoping they change that for the refresh.

I agree!I I vote for red leather like in the Stinger or Forrest Blue or Indigo like in the G80 and G90.

Hmmm...it doesn't look as good in the spy shots compared to the renderings. Based on these latest spy shots, I'm not really liking the front or the back now. I think I'll stick with my 2020.

I have a Audi Q5, Volvo v60 to go along with the G70 Prestige...

The Audi interior feels good...the seats feel great,,,leather is soft, the aesthetics are good, the wood warms up the space.

The V60 seats are superb, the interior clean and modern...the car spools up quick and is smooth...the interior is comfortable, tasteful, and a little teutonic.

The G70's interior always hits me when I open the door...very nice, has a luxury sporty look...more dramatic than the other two cars...seats look good but not as comfortable for a 600 mile day.

The G70's various controls are much better for a driver...more intuitive and easier to use without taking the eyes off the road....

And...the H-up display is a great feature neither other car has...and, I love the cool or warm air being blown through the seat...G70 for me...

I think what people are getting at is that it “looks cheap.” Because it was designed to be intuitive and ergonomic and not technologically marveling lol. I don’t even think Audi and Benz have better materials/quality in the segment. Benz with its 90% black piano plastic (80% if you option the wood?) that rattles and creaks like crazy. I drove a C63s for a week and could not stand the interior rattles.

Yep, those squeaks (primarily at the center console) is a common complaint about Benzes, even the really expensive ones.

The base model of the A4 used to use cheaper plastic at the rear compartment, and if we're going to talk swathes of piano black, look no further than the A8 (can't pick another material, but can only ADD more piano black).

While never cared for the dash design of the G70 (looks less outdated with the larger screen, but the move to the latest Genesis dash design can't come soon enough), it's still better than BMW's awful new dash design which looks low rent (even tho they upgraded the materials).

Along with the design, the materials should be upgraded as well for the next G70 - as with a fuller lineup, Genesis has the sales volume to justify switchgear exclusive to the brand.

Review after review loves the G70, including the dash materials, design and function. Can they all be wrong?

Audi again has that minimal look that some find better looking.
The rest? Garbage. Have any of you sat in a Giulia? Any Acura? Some people need to get passed the logo on the hood. I bet if that G70 had a BMW or Benz logo some would be marveling about how it has the best interior in the segment.
Totally agree with you about mercedes interiors - that's the Mercedes dirty secret is all that beautiful shiny plastic metal and wood creaks and crackles like a boy scout campfire. Just get in a recent C300, shoot an AMG, and press on the plastics around the console, and then take it for a drive, and you will find yourself deep in creakytown. The guys on Throttle House complain about it incessantly, and said they could not recommend Mercedes to anyone because of that creaky plastics.

The upgrades to the Stinger and G70 interiors are completely on point. The Stinger had even more significant upgrades, and it looks great. The only interior I liked better when I did my test drives was the 2019 A5 interior, and that was on a premium plus with lots of upgrades, including that lovely open pore grey wood they have. And that car was a lot more expensive than the G70, with a lot less power and handling.

I don’t know about that, I can’t stand any of the switches and buttons in the Giulia. You immediately feel how cheap and flimsy they are. Don’t get me wrong, it does have the driving dynamics but the G70 interior is of higher quality in my opinion.
The Alfa four cylinders have not good interiors, I have been in them. IMO. It's only the Quadrifoglio that gets really nice stuff. All the other Giulias are not so nice inside.

Still not liking that butt, though it will probably grow on me.

^ and why no dual tailpipe for the 2.0T/2.5T??? i can't believe they haven't fixed that glaring omission for the refresh. every other competitor, and most other lesser brands, have dual tailpipe as standard. seems goofy especially considering they already have the bumper/tailpipe setup to leverage from the 3.3T. it would mean less parts to produce as well if they made the tailpipe treatment common between trims.

Front still looks too soft for me. Starting to look more like a Sonata (no offense to Sonatas) I much prefer the chiseled in your face sinister look of the present one.

I think it looks tidy and well integrated...but I do see what you're saying. One on each side, may look nicer. The new TLX A-spec exhaust tips look terrible. The TLX-S tips look great though.
