  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody figure out how to bypass this?

Say, aren't you the guy who just had his brand new car sideswiped by a careless, inattentive, driver?

He hit my parked car, but I don't think he was doing anything distracting.

With what looks like your assuming, you're wrong. My kid has a DVD from a concert and while it plays audio when driving, it doesn't show the video. Would be nice to have...not for me.

I would tell my kid to get over the severe deprivation. Then I would explain safe driving to him/her. Then again, your child probably knows all this already.

What does a kid watching a DVD from the back seat have to do with anything related to my safe driving. You make no sense. Thanks for your unsolicited input on an unrelated topic a$$hat.

No wonder his name is Philth.

Are you some kind of troll? Do you have anything better to do? Looks to not be the case.

You're the filth for writing what you did!
Sheesh

Well put. I am tired trolls bashing and insulting people just for asking a question. This forum has had way too much of this lately. Sorry you had to experience this.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

The link that midnightsun posted is steep. $300. Sheesh

what is wrong with you? it seems like every one of your posts on every thread ive seen is so negative or rude. Either have some respect and courtesy or leave these forums. Damn

New poster, long time lurker (3+ months lol).

I can actually help in this thread. Typically, in a Double Din headunit like in the genesis w/tech, there is a single wire from the back of the HU that needs to be grounded somewhere. Any good stereo shop will know what to do.

This comes from tons of experience (6 years) of modding my current car and lots of reading.

Hope this helps.

I'm taking my car in on Friday to re-tint my rear window. (There are streaks between the film and the window...another story)

I'll ask them about grounding a wire. I know that's the case usually with aftermarket stereo's, but I would be hesitant to think the same applies for factory stereos. I'll ask anyways to see what they say. Thanks for the tip!

unfortunately the Genny is not that simple, if it were then we would know about it by now as over 3 years have past and no one yet has figured this one out. Heck when they too they normally will even sell instructions on ebay. My daughters car was as easy as grounding a single wire like you mentioned.

I posted a link above showing a module which needs to be used to achieve this which is much cheeper now than it was when it first came out yet still too much for my taste.

I agree. How much was it when it first came out? $300 is steep enough as it is now!

3 bills is sooo steep. I couldn't imagine it being that tough. Its a double din system...I can't imagine there have been that many innovations in that field ha. Either way, I will need to figure this out for my (future) Genesis...hmmmm

By all means! Please do. :)
