  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Please HELP 1st Car needs new engine :(

Just picked up an engine from MyAutoStore. Always recommended them in the past to fam and friends. I was able to grab a 126K $1600 w/shipping. They post on eBay also so make sure to keep an eye on there eBay account. I seen how much it was on there site and on there eBay you can put in an offer. They countered twice before accepting my bid on eBay which was just a little cheaper then the site. 6 month warranty also with the option of an additional if you want. Also make sure to call because they get new stuff in faster then they can post. An they test. Hope this all helps. In reality the engine I just got would’ve fit your car for the price I paid if that helps lower your stress.
Hi how did your engine swap go did you get it up & running? its been officially 3 months now & the Hyundai Genesis Dealership still hasn't work on my car. FmL :( They kept saying parts on backorder the guy who suppose 2 work on it was on vacation. I just feel like they keep giving me the run around they said they got the engine in the shop just not some parts like Tensioner, Timing, Ect My whole summer ruined I hate being in the dark like this. WINTER IS COMING.

Hi guys I haven't slept in days.. I bought my 1st car it took me 30 years of my life 2 buy 1...
:( I never had the luxury of buying a car my parents could never afford it when I was in highschool always walked & bus everywhere i saved & saved until i new what my Dream car was & that was a Hyundai Genesis 2012 3.8
I had it for 3 years bought it 100,000km used payed alot for it i loved this car. But recently I had an engine failure i was driving & it shut off on me super dangerous loss control luckily didn't crash into anyone was stuck 4 hours waiting 4 a toe truck with 1% battery life on my phone. I heard engine rattling than it siesed on me 1 day prior i took it 2 dealership to get engine oil because I stayed ontop of maintenance & repairs i got a new alternator, battery, replaced sparkplugs did everything they told me to keep it going... I haven't slept in days since the dealership told me I need a new engine i can't afford a new car cause I lost my job due to the pandemic. What do I do? The Hyundai dealership said they found a used engine they can put in it to bring it back to life but i dont know much about cars is this a good idea how long will this take... I need advice please & thank you. I miss SEGA is it worth it cause every other car used is a downgrade should I gamble get the used engine put in I was hoping to have this car till I was old & grey. PROS & CONS off engine swap.
the 2012 wasn't a good year for Hyundai genesis especially for the 3.8. But like the other guy said i would bring this matter up to the dealership. In the meantime research to see if there was any recalls for that year & model so you can get compensated.

Hi guys man oh man I am in some deep water FML I cannot catch a break so its been a total of 7 months since my engine blew every time I contacted the dealership my answer was always in the dark. Next week, Waiting on parts, Parts on back order, our mechanic got covid. Now the car apparent;y ready but here is the kicker they told me engine would be $2000 they showed me on the screen. Labour 10-20/h at a rate of $139 which they said they would lower it to $110 per hour but yet somehow they charged me $4000 in labour I did the math on that thats about 30 hours for work I dont even know if they actually put that amount in even though they told me 20. Than they charged me $8303 in parts. The Grand Total after $1600 in taxes $14095. FML that is double than what they quoted me & double what I could afford I had to take out a loan & still cant afford to pay this repair. Does this sound right to you guys or is the Hyundai dealership taking advance of me I feel like I am being screwed here. I lost 7 months of work wages because I did not have a job, or could find one I relied on UBER sadly which was my only source of income which I didn't even have because they told me the car would be ready in 1month NOT 7 months.
I am post the bill can you guys tell me does it sound right or is there something I can do to lower the cost I think that is ridiculous I am paying what I payed for when I 1st purchased the car. How did they come up with these numbers this is way over the initial $7000 budget why didn't they tell me this was going to cost this much I would of never agreed they left me in the dark.
Please help me out on what I can do next!!!

Do you have anything in writing? Original estimate? That would be a big help.
