Please help! Need interior measurement...

Hi folks,

I'm stuck at work and picking up a new TV when I leave here. UNFORTUNATELY, I didn't plan on it before I left the house, so I forgot to measure the backseat to see if it would fit. As I don't have a measuring tape with me at work, and I don't want to go home first THEN to the store, then back, I was hoping one of you good samaritans who happen to be at home could just measure that backseat area for me?

I'm curious if I can fit a TV box that measures 53" across, 31 1/2" high, and 10" thick. I'm sure it's a tight fit, if it fits at all...

Should fit if you put on floor. Plenty of height from driveshaft hump to ceiling and just a shade over 53 inches wide measuring from arm rests. Move driver and passenger seat up to align with B pillars and have 11-12 inches for width.

I think you might have some issues with the 31.5" height. I measure 30" from the seat cushion to the upper door gasket seal gasket on the body. There should be some "squish factor" but not sure if there is 1.5 inches of it. Not sure there is enough room from center console to rear seat front edge to put on the hump--otherwise that might work.

Other dimensions look fine.

Just go Getto and strap that baby to the roof. Then take a picture of it sitting in a walmart parking lot and post it up.

I have no idea if it will fit.

Moved a 50 inch tv within box in back seat. It did fit but be very careful when closing door. Shut door very slowly. May have to angle box in back seat to have the box fit. Good luck.

After ALL THAT... I went to the store, and they didn't have it in stock anymore - they told me to wait until Monday to pick it up.

So I went to their website online when I got home. Not only did I manage to get them to deliver it TO MY HOUSE tomorrow at lunch, but I paid $10.00 for them to take my DINOSAUR of an old rear projection TV away in the process!

Saves me a trip to the dump... and I get a few extra days with my new 50" Panasonic TC-P50S60! I guess I came out even in the end.

THANKS AGAIN. I think the box would have fit over the bump, and squished over the seats (with the front seats forward, like you recommended).

I bought a TV and just took it out of the box and it fit fine. Used some extra cushioning over the hump and elsewhere to keep it secure.

I *REALLY* wanted the ST in a 50"... but my kids and I are using it for gaming in the basement, and the input lag was noticeable to me on the ST, not so on the S. However, there is no question, the screen and deep blacks of the ST are freaking unreal. Especially for the price.

Oh well... I got almost as a good a TV with a 34ms input lag for $678.99. I suppose I can't complain TOO much.

For those folks that aren't aware... Panasonic is getting out of the Plasma business by the end of this year. A very unfortunate thing, because to me (and many industry experts), NO ONE made Plasma televisions as well as Panasonic. The good news is their recent LED offerings are actually not bad - go back a couple of years, and they weren't great. Anyways, if you're looking for a good television to hold you over for the next 3 or 4 years until OLED and 4K LED technology is somewhat affordable, go with a Panasonic plasma. Samsung also has some good models - just do your research!

Panny plasma FTW! Been rolling with a 65" GT30 for a couple years now and that thing is a beast. Blacks are soooo inky!

Agreed; Panny makes the best plasma available. My HT unit is the TC-P65ST30, and it is simply stunning.

I am impressed with their LED units as of late, I have a TC-L42E60 for my home office computer monitor.

Guy at PC Richards quoted me $850 for the TC-L58E60's he had in stock. I haven't seen that TV ANYWHERE for less than a grand.

If you're looking for a good 240hz LED with decent blacks... that's a deal you shouldn't pass up.
