  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Unless the next generation Genesis cars are on the boats, in-route to the U.S. in January, I do not think we will see them on dealer lots in 1Q14. The 2015 would probably have to already be in production now if they will hit the South Korean ports in January. Given that we have not seen the first 2014 yet, my hunch is that the 2014 production run will continue well into 2014.

So, I bet that we do not see the 2015 Genesis until August, 2014.

What guess you?

Im going with June/July time. I have a feeling that Hyundai will actually SKIP the 2014 model year and go straight to 2015 (not uncommon for Hyundai).

I voted for my B-day month just for Shits and Giggles but think it will be later in the year.

I say July! My birthday month!

I don't have any idea when they'll hit US shores, but, I know one thing. It's a radical change from the current sheet metal. Almost makes me wish I had waited another year to buy my Genny. :(

What I'm more curious about is what have they done with the electronics and other amenities.

I don't think the new renderings look bad. IMO they look better than the show car by a bunch. Styling is so subjective though. Personally I prefer the current look. I have never liked the "lemon sucking grill" on the Audis. The new Genesis looks better, but doesn't excite me. I am probably going to go R-spec '12 or '13 when I am ready to change. I agree with several other poster who think there may be no '14 at all. So if you have a good low miles R spec when you want the 4 wheel drive version send me a pm :).

i agree i voted august as well. We should get a better sense of timing once it's released in Korea later this year

Would be nice if they surprised me and had one at SEMA but that won't happen :/

I'll reserve final opinion for when I see it in person in a couple of months. It's looking mighty nice though.

Unfortunately, I think I'm stuck in my '12 until the third generation, unless of course I get a steal on a used one in a couple of years. We shall see.

By the way, if the '12's were any indication... late summer. Some cities in the US will get them throughout the summer... and some will miss out for a good while.

No, Hyundai usually does a truncated model cycle, so the 2014MY should get 6-7 months.

Always thought that the claim that Genesis would make its debut at NAIAS was wrong since it would have meant a later launch in Korea than had been planned.

Supposedly, the new Genesis will start production within a few weeks, so probably see them available in Korea sometime in Dec. - which would mean a June/July US launch (maybe May).

Anyway, the renderings look a bit better than the spy shots but rendering usually do.

Still a bit underwhelmed by the new design but maybe it'll look better in video or in person than in those spy shots.

From Friday's Wall Street Journal:

"The auto maker has just one model scheduled for introduction to the domestic market this year: a revamped version of its premium Genesis sedan that might be released next month. The model will be sold overseas starting next year.

Hyundai said the new Genesis will be its first all-wheel drive sedan, as it seeks to go upmarket with premium models to better compete with rising sales of luxury imports such as BMW AG BMW.XE +0.12% 's 3 Series and Daimler AG DAI.XE -0.55% 's Mercedes-Benz C-Class."

I spoke to the GM of a SFL dealer today and he told me that they will have them in July.

I wish it would have been earlier, but oh well.

You have a beautiful car. Enjoyed the pictures. It will be hard to beat the looks of your car judging from the 2015 pictures I have seen. Oh, by the way, mine is exactly the same, except it's a modified 2009. Garage stored and covered, only driven on sunny days. I have 16000 miles on it now. It rain a lot here. My Sonata is for rainy days.
Cheers

It looks like the folks who voted for May may have won the guessing game. We will know soon!

As of this post, May was the winner with 12 votes (25%).

There are currently 3 V6 '15 Genneys sitting in the customs/prep shop here on the west coast. They are waiting on the next boat to arrive and suspect it will have more.

Who in the hell brought over the first three? Was it Thor Heyerdahl?
