  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thanks.

I read this msg a few days ago... however was pondering it on the ride into work today.

Hopefully Hyundai knows that a plain Jane 5.0 and Rspec badge doesn't make the car.
we all know there is no real world difference in performance of the rspec vs the non rspec
5.0. This is Hyundai's shot... again to compete with the CTS-V. They have a V8... who would have thought in one of their cars.

I'd pay another $15k for 550-600 HP Slap FI on that biatch and call it a day.

Mmmm...

$58,000 Hyundai Genesis Rspec 5.0 FI 580HP AWD. 0-60 4.0 sec with seats that hold you like a fat chick after sex.

ppp

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I emailed this article to HMA and here was the response I got back.

"Yes we are studying the 5.0 awd performance model. Unfortunately I can't give potential timing on that model. But it is on our radar screen. If we do it you will see a formal announcement."...

LOL ..... PP, Where's that chic? ..... Now that's the kind of seat I need, period. Regards.

Here is the latest update I received from HMA regarding the Performance version...

My question that I sent to HMA:

As soon as HMA releases information on the HTRAC V8, can you shoot me an email so I can check it out?

HMA response:

Sure. There will be a media drive, and you will see more detail in all the magazines and newspapers.

This is for late March or so.

Late March? That may be a bit optimistic but I will certainly welcome it. Can not wait for the '15 AWD V8 hot rod.

I think that late March is the announcement, not delivery date.

Thanks for taking the time to email the questions and pass them on.

In my humble opinion, if Hyundai wants to be competitive, a 2015 R-spec needs to be a step ahead of an M class 5 series BMW, an S6 class Audi, and an E500 class Merc. And at least $15-20k less than all the above. Given the styling of the new Genesis, and the vagaries of a new R-spec, I'm not holding my breath. I love the 5.0 Tau engine, it remains to be seen if Hyundai will commit to really bringing a driver's machine to the US market. I hope.

We will find out in March. I am confident that it is coming based on Derek's response back to me yesterday. The car itself won't be released until the fall but I am willing to wait if it has the options that I want.

It's the same interview with Miles Johnson but here they quoted, "but in a recent interview with Autoguide, Hyundai ’s spokesman Miles Johnson revealed that this move was made because Hyundai is considering a performance-focused Genesis that will feature the Tau 5.0-liter V-8 and the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system. This performance model is still being discussed and is not yet given the green light, but if it gets the "go," it should arrive a few months after the base version."

Hyundai Think Tank is currently conducting a survey to ask members their opinion about the possibility of offering a 2015 Genesis Sedan 5.0 with AWD.

Good to know. Will definitely let them know the headlights options need to be updated from 2005 and express interest in a performance variant.

I was ready to trade in my 2011 4.6 for a loaded 2015 5.0 when they arrive this spring, but I want the H-TRAC too. I guess that I will have to wait now.
