  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

About $1893 off invoice, that's inclusive of $3000 lease cash (which I guess is mirrored by the balloon financing) and $1000 conquest.

Still a dang good deal!

It was definitely too good of deal to pass up.

Sure thing Tonester.. This may only be the right option for those that can pay in full within 3 years or so. Pretty much, all I cared about was the out the door price, regardless of whether it's financed or not. With this balloon program (I think this is what it's called) through Genesis Finance, they were able to get me $4000 in rebates ($3000 just for using that specific financing program I'm assuming? And another $1000 for the conquest competitor vehicle - I currently own an Acura). The dealer must have thrown in whatever other discounts they could on top of that.

We put $0 money down and were approved for 2.05% apr, 35 payments at $626.47 and final payment of $25811.10 due on payment 36. It is a simple interest loan with no pre-payment penalties, therefore once the first bill comes in, we will pay it off in full, or choose to continue making monthly payments and pay it off at the end of the loan or anytime before then. Rate doesn't change and no hidden fees/etc.

I'll break down the numbers from the purchase agreement.

Total Price showed $50610 for the RWD 3.3T Sport. Dealer also threw in rear bumper applique and window tint (not included in $50610 price as this was negotiated later). Vehicle also came with first aid kit and mud guards.

Purchase agreement showed:

Cash price of vehicle $46407

Total due $49500.99 included tt&l, other fees, etc.

Rebates $4000
Amount to be financed $45500.99
Purchased from Genesis of Dallas, in TX.
I’ve been to Genesis of Dallas. Was looking at a SS 3.3 sport last week there. Had planned to wait for 2020 models but appears you got a good price. Do you know what kind of validation is needed for the conquest discount? Do you have to drive the competing vehicle to the dealer or just show an insurance card or something.

Should just need to show a current registration with a competing brand registered in your name.

You may have been looking at the same one I did. I didn't have the best customer experience there initially but I later spoke to the GM about it and he addressed all my concerns. One thing I would look at is the build date, mileage and make sure you inspect the car real good. I think the SS 3.3T had 250 miles on it. Looked at a Himalayan gray 3.3t and it had a big scratch on the side. Ended up with another Himalayan gray with 50 miles and a dec 2018 build date.

To answer your question, all they asked for was my insurance card to verify the competitor conquest offer.

If I could do it again, I may use Genesis of Plano. Try Jon Kan 972-693-4888. He was matching every offer Genesis of Dallas was offering but it was a further drive for me.

I really need to look into this "balloon" financing program. I was going to write a check and take my $1000 in conquest dollars but if I can get another $3K I'm all in. I don't see this balloon program on the financing specials on Genesis' website though???

I didn't know about it till the dealer mentioned it. Just ask them about it. Good luck and hope you can get a similar deal, if not better!

Try this - call Jon at Genesis of Plano about the SS 3.3T. Tell him you were referred to him and see if he can get you $45500 out the door with the balloon finance program. And if not, you will go to Genesis of Dallas.

Appreciate the extra info @mrcleeaan. Are you sure it isn't "lease cash" they offered you in that $3K rebate? And maybe they just talked about it as "balloon financing"? Looks like your 3 year payoff is exactly 51% of MSRP (same as RV), so that mirrors a lease program. If you can post a copy of the exact deal with detailed numbers, that would be very helpful to the forum. Many thanks!

Thanks for the info. Plano is further out for me but may be worth a try. One of the Dallas mangers did come out and introduce himself and that dealer gets bonus points for not automatically installing the front plate bracket on their cars. I should have looked at build date of the SS while I was there but was still thinking 2020 model year at the time. I see a lot of silver cars in general on the road so sort of flipping back and forth to a MB color. Decisions decisions.

I also made sure no front plates were installed. 👍

I got my G70 2.0T manual transmission Siberian ice for 38K out the door in Miami, Florida. My credit file is slim because I only been in the US for like a year, the dealer got me 8% on financing 28K. I declined and I got a loan from Digital credit union at 4,5% for 65 months.

I'm pretty sure it's a balloon program. We didn't talk about mileage limits, residual, fees/penalties for paying off early, unlike a lease.

Also, I'm assuming I would've signed/received a copy of a lease agreement if it was a lease. Instead I have a retail purchase agreement.

It seems like the Balloon Financing deal mimics a lease deal and the rebate is equal to lease cash for that G70 trim. This is a real boon for someone who knows they want to keep the car and as such you avoid the lease fees ($750 acquisition, $400 disposition) but you still get the rebate and have the car titled in your name. The only disadvantage I see of BF is the lease deals usually have a subsidized MF near 0.5% or less. Compare that to the 2.05% conventional loan mrcleeaan got and there are pros/cons to each deal. From my calculations, mrcleeaan's deal is just slightly below a Circle A price. Great negotiating!

I picked up my G70 Elite in Siberian Ice last Saturday using Circle A pricing
MSRP: 46575
Circle price: 42837
Lease cash: 3000
Final price: 39837
MF: 0.00009
RV: 49%
TTL + Fee: 2115
Some extra about: 1300$

36 months/15k at 567$ with 0 down. Look a bit higher than my own calculation but I chose to overlook it because they pretty much agreed on everything I want and I was in and out in 1h30. Thanks r_spec again!

There was no disposition fee at lease for me when I bought out the lease. Also are you sure there is no loan origination fee to start the balloon loan?

There has been discussion of 2 different fees that may be applicable at lease end. One if you purchase the car and the other if you turn it in; both around $300-400. There has also been comment that some leases did not include the fee in the lease paperwork, so there is definitely some inconsistency here. If you are right, that is one less fee to deal with if you keep the car. (y)

Regarding loan origination fee, you'd have to ask @mrcleeaan about that, although he did say no hidden fees.

I’m just saying there was no fee in my case. No speculation, just giving a personal experience.

Knowing at least what one person got with their dealer relative to fees or no fees is helpful for all of us. The more informed we all are the easier to sift thru any dealer BS when the time comes.

I just got my 3.3 Elite for 42k estimate as i had trade. they gave me 4k more for trade than anyone else.
