If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Genesis Fans.

First post, so be kind.:D The lease on my current vehicle, an Acura TL Tech, will be coming to a close shortly and I've been looking a various replacements. The Genesis V6 Ultimate has caught my eye. Frankly, I'm surprised that I would consider a Hyundai product. For over 22 years (74-96) I worked in automobile dealerships and we got to the point of not taking Hyundais in as trades, they were so bad! Hopefully, those dark days are over. I have a few questions that I hope current owners of the 2015 Genesis can answer:

Have any of you owned a 4th Gen Acura TL? How does the Genesis compare in regards to comfort, performance, dealer experience, maintenance cost?

Compared to other vehicles you've owned perviously, how are the insurance premiums?

For many years I've leased my vehicles, and the Genesis would be no exception. I've read the forum regarding prices paid for leases, but was wondering specifically, the lease payments on recent V6 Ultimate transactions for 3 years 15000 per year. For reference, I live in Southeast Texas. How much down and what have been your lease payments?

Lastly, would you buy another Genesis and if not, why?

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will be joining you guys in the near future.

the design of this genesis is strong. it will be the one driving factor that makes u purchase it.

build quality is better than nissan, bery close to toyota and honda. IMO all the hyundai kia line up kills everything acura has to offer. hondas accord is nice to the eyes but everything else is not desireable to the eyes.

problem with this genesis is that people consider them as a level equivalent to the maxima, avalon, chrysler 300. larger sized cars but not exactly a full on luxury car.

thats why they dont move till low 30k range. a chrysler 300 new fully loaded can be had for about 29k plus tax and fees. maximas fully loaded eventually drop to 29k as well. this is why resale drops fast, it eventually gets to a price that catches bids, where people perceive that car at its worth.

ya genesis is rear wheel drive and have a lot to offer but that's where the market sees the genesis. they are not ranked uo there with the lexus GS or even ES, bmw 3 5 series benz c e class.

its ranked with the maximas and avalons.

I got my Genesis in Feb - 5.0 V8

Have had zero probs - very nice car - lots of power (to be expected), great suspension, handling, braking, etc. And for those who like that sort of thing - it has a full complement of gadgets (excuse me, technology). Went over to the mountains this morning - had a lot of fun with the paddle shifters, etc. The gps readout kept me informed as to altitude.

In my opinion, Hyundai quality control is about as good as it gets. I bought two Sonata V6's in '05 (2006 models) - same story - neither car has ever been back to the dealer except for recalls/tsb's. Would definitely buy another Genesis - to answer your question.

I do all my service work - which helps

We had a 2004 Acura TSX with nav pkg. , put 235,000 miles on it, good car but not great. Purchased my 2011 4.6 V8 tech Genesis in Sept. 2010. Now the 2011 Genesis has 164,000 miles on it and its been more reliable, more comfortable, and has more power than the 2004 Acura. IMO it is equal to or better in quality to Acura, BMW, and Mercedes.

False. Where you getting this info from? . My question is do you own 2015 Genesis? My second question is do you or have you ever own any luxury car like a BMW 5 series? If you did or anyone for that Matter knows the Genesis is right behind those luxury cars if not is a better choice. I test drove the 535i I was a pen away from getting one until I decided to go look at the genesis out of curiosity. I left with my 2015 genesis that same day nice and poud.

I had a 3rd gen TL (driven for nearly 170K miles) that I traded in on a Genesis, and the current Genesis is superior in every way except gas mileage and dealer experience.

As for would I buy one again, I'm on my third one, so emphatically yes, I would.

Gag... I traded in my 2013 Honda Accord for my 2015 Genesis. I *hated* that Honda Accord. Build quality was in the gutter. Everything vibrated and shook. Also the seats were incredibly terrible. The Genesis is so much better!

And, as a former 2008 BMW M5 and 2003 BMW 530 owner, the Genesis is a FAR superior car in ride, quality and comfort! The 5.0 Genesis has the same torque that my M5 had! Sure the M5 can blow most cars away at high speed, but you don't get to do that on the road very often!:)

The 5.0 has a lot of power when your crusing along at 70 and need to get around someone. Your doing 90 or triple digits in a hurry :D

But the 500HP V10 in the M5 is in a different league than the Tau V8 and those similar torque figures do not match the performance differences.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I will let you know if I pull the trigger in the coming weeks. Please keep the comments coming.

Put on your big boy pants and buy the 5.0 Ultimate. It's is a spectacular car. Got mine almost a month a go and I still smile every morning when I open the garage door and see it before driving it to work. Puts me in a great mood every day. This car rocks.

No doubt! But I was doing exactly that, well into triple digit speeds while passing, this past weekend, with my 3.8.

I had a gen 2 and 3 TL, liked them. Test drove a 4th gen TL but did not get it. From what I can recall, the Genesis will be far quieter and more comfortable than the TL. Features and technology are significantly better depending on what package you get on the Genesis. It is a good car and I'm loving mine so far.

Leased my Genesis Ultimate in March of 15. Car has a lot going for it. Very nice Technology, Comfort of cabin is spectacular. Use of the controller is sweet. Never thought I would enjoy that piece of the car at all. However the ride of the car (flat spots) has ruined the experience completely. I had the Michelins put on about 1800 miles and nothing has changed. The first few miles of every drive is a completely unpleasant experience. My daily commute is only 9 miles of city streets. I feel everything for the first 3 or so miles. I'm convinced its not the tires but the car. I can't wait to get out of this car in the spring of 18. I would not buy nor lease this car ever again.

because of tires? C'mon. There are options, Comp1.

Sorry to hear that Comp1. I have 13k miles on mine and have never had any type of flat spotting or car vibration issues. The only issue I have is a very faint vibration in the steering wheel when the ac is on.
