  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

I've owned my G80 for some time now (Bought it January 2021, now has 53k miles). I recently bought an old 2008 Lexus RX350 as my new daily considering the amount of miles I put on the G80, just wanted something uber reliable. I've had some issues with the Genesis here and there: evaporator core failed (replaced by warranty), roof rattling (the dealership dealt with it but I can still hear it time to time), and incessant rattle from my passenger side door speaker (had to have the whole door card replaced through Genesis corporate). Fortunately, the service advisor at the dealership I work with is amazing and I was able to get everything taken care of.

A few issues I've found after driving the vehicle so much are that the steering and suspension never seem to settle. As far as the steering, the car tends to not stay straight when on long highway commutes. I feel as though I constantly have to correct the steering and have tried different steering modes but to no avail (sport steering seems to be the best for this though). I've read that the suspension is fairly bouncy and it's something I'm adjusted to, but I'm looking for a solution to remedy that bounce.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the first thing you need is to have an alignment done.

I had my rear tires replaced and an alignment done about a month ago. I’ve also tried alignment multiple times previously, it’s helped slightly with the steering but hasn’t fully stabilized the steering. I may just have to chalk it up to rough Houston roads.

OK, I see now that you have 53K on a car you bought new and you live near Houston. Since you bought it new, when did it start to wander?

It's been wandering for awhile now (maybe a year or so). I took it to the dealership today and the lead tech told me the rear differential is going bad (will be replaced by warranty). I think the car drives okay, the steering just feels awfully loose.

A rear diff is not going to make the car wander. Nice that you will be getting a new diff... but your car will be back in for the same problem within a day or two.

I wish Hyundai would buy me a new differential! It may not solve a wandering problem, but free is a good price.

I got the alignment redone and tires rebalanced, seems to have done the trick....thank god
