  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

price paid for extended warranty

I suspect that HPP Platinum for Equus is more than for Genesis, but dealers will quote a ridiculous price just in case someone is willing to pay it. Find one of the people via IM on this forum who got the warranty via email/phone from another dealer, and contact them for a reasonable quote. You do not have to purchase the warranty from the dealer where you purchased the car.

I emailed Haub at Jim Ellis and got the extended warranty for $1895 10/100 Platinum zero deductible. They do not return or answer your call promptly regarding extended warranties but they are super responsive for emails, works for me.
You guys (this forum) have really helped me to save like 2grand without any haggle. A big hug to this forum members :D

I got both of my warranties from there at very good prices but I read on another post that they had stopped or were told to stop selling to out of state customers.

Just recently bought a 2016 Genesis in Austin, Texas. Trying to figure out the pricing for the Hyundai Protection Plan. The dealer here where I bought the car from offers me at 10 yr 1000000 mile warranty at $1510.

After some back-and-forth negotiations, I wound up paying $1,250 for a 72 month/100,000 mile zero deductible platinum warranty from a local Hyundai dealer. I'm pleased with that.

I bought my Genesis a couple of weeks ago and still need to purchase and extended warranty. If I could get one for $1200 I think it would be a no-brainer, but unfortunately the quotes I got were much higher.

My car is an immaculate 2011 Genesis 3.8 Premium with 32,000 miles. The local Hyundai dealer quoted me $2,150 for a 7 year / 100K / 0 deductible through Zurich. This is an exclusionary policy that covers everything unless specifically excluded. This is comparable to the Hyundai Protection Plan (HPP) Platinum.

Here's a link to the Zurich Brochure that I found online:
Zurich Vehicle Service Contract
Look towards the end of the document for the "Comprehensive" pages.

Members here suggested I call Jim Ellis Hyundai for a better deal. I called them and they quoted me $2,599 for a 7 year / 100K / 0 deductible HPP Platinum plan. Yikes! I'm definitely not paying that.

Still not sure what I am going to do. My car is still covered by the 5 year / 60K original factory warranty until April, but I will need to have something else in place before that expires. I bought my car used from a ford dealer, so it was not a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. As such, I don't get the 10 year / 100K factory powertrain warranty.

What are your thoughts?

I just got a quote for a 2013 3.8 w/ Tech Gen with 34,000 miles. HPP Platinum w/ no deductible from Wayne Hyundai in NJ was $2862. I've seen in this thread that dealerships are no longer allowed to sell warranties out of state, but Mr White was able to get a quote. I have $2000 budgeted for the warranty..thats my absolute max! Anyone with recent quotes for 1st generation Gen would be helpful..list mileage too please. Thanks.

A word to the wise. I’ve had dealings with Wayne Hyundai and they are let’s say in my opinion less then reputable particularly with warranty sales. Even though it’s been said that dealers can no longer sell out of state warranties I still see it happening. I purchased two warranties from out of state for both my cars and got best price from them.
