Problems with windshield and wipers

I have yet to find a set of blades that do not vibrate or knock above 60 mph. I am on my 3rd set.

1- RainX Latitudes (wal-mart)
2- Michelin Symphony (wal-mart)
3- Valeo ???? (advance auto)

Next will be the OEM Hyundai blades. Valeo was the only company who refunded my money. Never heard from RainX or Michelin

It makes me wonder if the drivers side spring rate is not strong enough to hold them flat??

I went to this web site and they do not show a blade for a 2010 Genesis. Which one did you buy?

Most blades from any manufacturer are universal.

The sizes to look for are 24 (drivers) 20 (passengers).

Ping, I'm still on my 1st OEM set, and I'm pretty satisfied. They're quite, and work very well.

I had 1 full week of rain last week. The thump noise when the blade is fully upright is soooo freakin' annoying!!! Its loud and left marks on the windshield. It took two applications of Invisible Glass to get it off.

I'm on my 5th set of blades including the OEM's.

1) OEM'S ...lots of chatter at highway speeds and in generally noisy. Always leaves streaks.

2) Rain-X Latitudes....vast improvement over the OEM blades but still left some streaking, a lot quieter but was still getting a hard thump noise at the top of each wipe.

3) Michelin Radius......very sloppy blade with lots of noise especially in a heavy downpour with the blades moving fast. Did well with streaks but the noise will drive you to drink lol.

4) Bosch Icon.....Decent blade, fairly quiet at all speeds and provided a nice streak free wipe for about the 1st 1200 miles of use, then all of a sudden started to note some streaks happening....not after each wipe but still annoying. I wiped off the edge of the blade thinking something got stuck under it but no such luck.

5) Valeo 900 Ultimate Series OE wipers. Make sure they are the 900-24-7B (DRIVERS SIDE) and 900-20-7B (PASSENGER SIDE), this makes sure they come with the correct attachment for our car. 700 miles on these blades and they are near whisper quiet as you can get with absolutely no streaking. I'm getting a consistently clean wipe at all speeds. So far these blades are top notch and reasonably priced for how well they work. The blades have over 1500 pressure points that help keep them on your windshield and give a a superior wipe each time to date. I will report back on how well their holding up in about a week when I have around 1500 miles on them. So far though they're my #1 recommend blade. I'm in Florida with lots of rain, not sure how they will perform in snow etc...but they claim to be an all weather wiper blade.

I use Rain-X windshield wiper fluid with bug remover and did so with each blade tested. Great product and it can be found in Walmart for $2.08 a gallon. It really reduces how much you need to use your blades to begin with. At highway speeds I generally turn the wiper off now and let the Rain-X do it's job.

I hope this helps some and I will report back soon with an update, best wishes :)

The loud slap noise is the worst....

On one of my regrettable trips to the car wash I came home with a missing wiper on the drivers side. I've tried almost every wiper out there including the OEM. The "thaap" at the top of the sweep drives me insane since it never existed prior to the loss. I'm ordered the Valeo's ( No retail site, Ebay) and bought the rain X @ Walmart. If this doesn't work I may get the dealer to order the entire arm even if I have to pay!!

I just wish we could get some rain to drive in! Everything here is dead or dying from lack of water. I wouldn't mind a little wiper noise if we only had something to wipe ...;)

The Valeo wipers did the trick!!! No more thflop!! at the top of the sweep!

I wonder if this issue could be causing the suspension problems everyone is having... its all related some how......:D

BAAAH HAHAHAHA!
Thx I needed that!

Like a previous post, thoroughly clean the wiper blades with rubbing alcohol and clean paper towels.... that should really help

I have found that using a clay bar on the glass and a coat of Rain-X keep the windshield cleaner longer and makes it easier for the wiper blades to clear off the gunk. The Rain-X lasts about 3 washings and then it is reapplied. You would be surprised at how much stuff sticks to the glass that washing or glass cleaner won't remove. This leftover gunk is what causes the more rapid wear of the blades.

I have found that using a clay bar on the glass...

Glad you wrote that because I was actually going to ask if that would work. I get this film on my windows that looks like water sports and it never seems to come off. I think I may try the clay bar asap. :)

My OEM blades were quiet, but left streaks on the windshield from the start. I replaced with Michelin Symphony - they cleared the water all right, but produced a big thump at the top of each sweep - very annoying. I replaced those with Rain-X Latitude - they also cleared the water, but left an annoying streak right in front of the driver, and also produced a big thump at the top of each stroke. I finally got a pair of Valeos, which were less expensive than both the Michelin and the Rain-X, and no thumping noise. They clear the windshield very well, and they are silent - as far as i'm concerned, Valeo is the way to go.

As an aside, I purchased on Amazon and got free shipping. Curiously enough, both wipers arrived in the same delivery, but in separate shipping boxes. One of the boxes was 36" long and 5" square, plenty big enough to hold both blades with room to spare. The second box was 48" X 12" X 5", big enough to hold probably a couple of dozen blades. Go figure...

Replaced my worn RainX wipers with brand new ones and the thump is gone!
