  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Problems with windshield and wipers

There have been other posts noting the Genesis windshield seems soft compared to other car windshields: scratches easy and/or seems to pit easier from road grime and debris.

My windshield is a perfect example of this. looks like someone put rocks in a leaf blower and blasted the windshield. Hard to capture in pictures but is noticeable when driving.

The windscreen definitely attracts the funk. I've used "Barkeeper's Friend" with a clean sponge,(non scrubber) to remove the crud that the glass cleaners leave behind. It works quite well.

I clean the windshield with Rain-X (aerosol can) maybe every 3 months to clean the glass and make the wipers function smoothly.

As far as the windshield glass itself, the car was demolished (certainly, severely damaged) by a hailstorm recently, and the glass came thru fine. Sunroof was shattered, though, - the glass on the sunroof is only .15 inch thick on that little item.

If you are using other than the original Hyundai brand of wipers the problem will continue. I have found that replacing the blades with the OEM ones from Hyundai yearly, I no longer have any of these type wiper problems

I've got the same issue. Looks like tiny little bb marks..... no way to get them out except to refinish the windshield which I'm not doing due to lack of experience and equipment.
