  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Programming garage door to HomeLink

I did, but no success. I'll have to contact Homelink and see what their comments are, thanks for your help.
wondering what brand opener you have. I’m stuck with mine being Genie but no visible “learning”button. Would like to hear what they say at Homelink

I have 2 new LiftMaster 8500's.

FWIW, I bought my G80 15 months ago. One of the first things I did was program the Homelink. We have a Chamberlain opener. I going to take a wild guess and say during the first 5-6 months, the G80 "forgot" the programing maybe 4 times. I even took the car to the dealer who said they could do nothing. THEN, after the 5-6 month period, the door opener using Homelink has been rock study without changing anything in the Homelink procedure. Still, I hold my breath everytime I hit the button.

NOTE: My previous ride was a '12 Range Rover Evoque and the Homelink in that one never did work with the Chamberlain. My nextdoor neighbor also had an Evoque and he had the same problem.
I'm currently experiencing the same problem with my G70 I purchased 2 months ago. I had to reprogram it twice already.

I've had 4 different Genesis sedans (09/12/15 and 10) and never had an issue at 2 different homes. That being said, none were Genie openers but both locations had rolling codes. I just programmed my 2010 the other day and made sure to clear any stored codes first (used vehicle), then hit the "learn" button on the opener. I had 30 seconds to get the the car and hit the desired button but I couldn't get it to work. I decided to move the car right in front of the garage door and try again - it worked without issue. Apparently the "learn" signal doesn't travel too far. Probably a security feature.
Not sure what to do with a Geni if it doesn't have a "learn" button other than try and copy the remote. My cars won't copy a remote with a rolling code opener.

At work I parked in what used to be one of the shipping docks. Doors were 14' so the opener was even higher. I had a guy stand in the lift cage on a fork truck to push the button for me.

I currently have 2 doors stored (home and Fire Station) and was able to program both from the remote. Sometimes it seems I need to hold the mirror button for 1-2 seconds before the door will open.
