  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question for buyers/owners of demonstrator vehicles-- what did you get/not get warranty/service wise?

I am hearing conflicting things, but ultimately it seems best to ask owners who have actually purchased this way.

What did you buy, and what exactly were you granted for a warranty, complimentary service, etc? What were you NOT eligible for?

Language up for question is found here on page 19:

"If the vehicle was first placed in service as a Genesis Branded Manager Demonstrator Vehicle, or Genesis Branded Service Loan Car, the original (first) retail purchaser of the vehicle is considered the original owner, and the 10 year / 100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty remains in effect."

My salesman seems to think this means the first person they sell it to... Genesis Customer Care doesn't seem to know the definitive answer yet and are going to get back to me.

FWIW, the car I'm looking at has a few thousand miles on it already and is still being used as a demo vehicle.

That's how I bought mine. It was "Manager's Demo", or "Service Loan Car" (I heard later that manager's wife was driving it for almost a year). It had 6,000 miles, but it was never titled, so I am original owner with full OEM warranty.

It is 2011 4.6, and I bought it on November 15, 2012. Couple times I had to leave car at the dealership for service and I was given loner. It was some small Hyundai SUV.

I also bought OEM extended warranty from Hyundai before I hit 20,000 miles.

I purchased my 2014 RSpec sedan as a new vehicle with 2400 miles on it. Demo model with no previous owner. Warranty began at time of purchase so the first 2400 miles were added to my warranty and noted on the sales contract. Nice discount and no downside after owning for 5 years. Still drives great and I get excellent service at my dealership.
