  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Let me start this post by saying that at the very least this will give some of you a good laugh.

Vehicle: 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0T Premium
Stock tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE92A
Front:225/45-18
Rear:245/45-18

I ordered my first replacement set from Tire Rack and they were installed less than a week ago and installed at a local auto service place that is well-established and generally has good reviews. It is as simple as a tire replacement, what could go wrong.

Today I went outside to ensure that the tire pressure was done accurately and in doing so I noticed that they had installed those intended for the rear (245 mm) on the right, and the front tires (225) on the left. Sure, it's probably an ideal racing stagger, but I make a fair number of right turns. The remedy to this is simple and I will take it up with them shortly.

My question: Are the wheels that came stock on my car functionally equivalent or is there a difference in width? Next to the valve stem on 2 of them I see "F" and on the other 2 I see "r". I understand that you have a little bit of range of tire width that can be accommodated on a given rim, and honestly eyeballing (I don't have access to a tape measure until tomorrow) they all look like good fits, but each size (225 & 245) is installed on one "F" and one "r" and I am figuring they botched this aspect too, but want some assurance.

Bonus information would be specifications on these particular rims, if anyone has them. I have seen reference to 7.5" and 8" wide (image attached of one of my wheels, I believe they are Surefit).

Thanks in advance for any assistance -

- Bill
