  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Will 235/45-18 tires fit on a stock Genesis Sedan 4.6 okay?

(I know the OEM tires are 235/50-18, and I know 245/45-18 tires work fine... just not sure about the set of 235/45-18's I'm currently interested in.)

Thanks in advance.

Check and see if the revs per mile are a lot more; if so this could effect the speedometer. Also your car will be lower to the ground. You may have to run a higher pressure.

Sure... no big deal there. Those are minor things to me. Thanks for pointing them out, though.

Other than that... the tire will fit on the wheel no problem, correct? And there will be no real noticeable change in ride? That's all I'm wondering.

The tire will fit just fine, it will have less side-wall and will have a smaller diameter. That will lead to your speedometer reading faster than you are going.

Go to tirerack.com and you can find out what the diameter of the tires and how many revolutions at 60 mph.. If you go with them there is not any reason to run a higher air pressure than 33 psi .

Yeah, only a difference of 3-4% in speedometer rating. When the speedo reads 60 mph, the actual speed will be 58 mph, so I'm not worried about that. It's not much difference in ground clearance (1"), sidewall (2/5") or radius (2/5"), either.

Thanks for the advice, folks. I'm pulling the trigger!
