R-Spec tire size options on stock rims

Please share your experience with different tire sizes that can fit on the original 19" rims. From my research, the options would be 245/45/R19 and 255/40/R19 to be as close to original as possible. The former will give 1mph difference at 80mph and the latter even less. The former should give a more comfortable ride since the sidewall is taller and the latter will be the opposite with shorter sidewall.

The tires I am considering are Michelin Pilot Super Sport in 255/40/R19 and Continental DW or Potenza S-04 in 245/45/R19.

Are any of you running either of these options? How do they compare to the original ride and are they a proper fit so that the tire doesn't touch the wheel well in any situation?

On those 8'' OEM rims, I wouldn't go beyond 245/45/19

For 255/40/R19 tires, rim width range is 8.5-10''

That means The Pilot Super Sports are out of the race since they do not offer proper size.
Anyone has impressions from 245/45/19 on the r-spec?

I've been using Cinturato P7's in 245/45. Yes, the speed is slightly faster than what the speedometer reads, but it is inconsequential. The ride is better, I guess, because it holds more volume of air.Water dispersal is excellent with this tire.............. but maybe most tires are good at that now. That's something that may be of importance to you considering where you live.

I just got the Continental DWS 06 in 245/45/19 installed this weekend. Much much better handling and grip than the continental OEM. So far I am really happy with performance, and I am looking to see how they are handling in rain and snow but from the reviews I have read, the DWS 06 are doing really well. I do not have complaint with noise.

I just installed a set of BFG G-Force Comp2 A/S in 245/45/19. They ride way quieter than the aging, oem Continentals. They are grippy and are excellent in the rain. They do look a bit more aggressive than the stock tires, but I couldn't be happier for $188 per tire from Tire Rack.

Thanks for the input. I guess I'll be going with a 245/45/R19 for sure. Now I just have to decide between the softer S-04 that wears out very quickly and the harder DW that lasts longer but is not as sticky.

I have them on mine. I've enjoyed them.

Have a 2012 3.8 with tech. Just purchased the stock rspec rims and will be putting the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All season Plus on them.. Rave reviews on Tire Rack for this tire. Love the profile of the rspec rims.

I have a 2012 3.8 w/tech. Just go the stock 19 inch rspec wheels delivered this week. I had the 18s on the car. Just Had the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 245/45R19 put on with the stock wheels. Unbelievable ride - much quieter than the Michelin Energy Saver A/S I had on the car. I thought going up an inch in wheel size would make for a rougher ride over bumps but it takes the bumps much better as well. The reviews on tire rack which put this tire #1 were dead on. Looking to sell the 18s if anyone interested

Just ordered some 245/45/ZR19 Pilot Sport AS4s from Costco. They are offering $150 off a set of 4. Comes out to ~$850 installed. Should be installed in a week or so.

The OEM Contis were awful. 235s on a 429hp car is never a good thing.

Had summer wheels and tires on but need something for mild PA winters. Don't drive much in snow and have an Explorer Sport if things get really bad.

Same here on 2104 Genesis R-Spec sedan. Excellent tire. 245/45 on stock rims.
