  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys who are running radar detector where did you mount your remote to? I am trying to hardwire my escort but all i am seeing is write ups for 1st gen. Anyone have good tutorial on 2nd gen?

Thanks!574FAB24-8F40-4812-80D3-AC229ACD68DC.webp

I hardwired my R3 into the mirror. No remote, just reach up and mute it. I might install a BlendMount at some point but it's fine right now.

For ur v1 do u have a remote mute button like escort? Is wiring to the mirror lot easier than fuse box?

Good question, probably but I don't know about dashcams that use park mode because it would need power when the ignition is switched off. A multimeter would probably be the best source to tap the mirror wires in this case.

Oh thats right. Thanks!! i will try to hardwire today or something

Use a rechargeable Lithium powered dash cam. No need to hardwire one into the system. There are quite a few excellent dash cam available that are lithium rechargeable. I believe one is advertises here in the vendor section. Keep in mind, anything that is hard wired unless turned off is a drain on the Genesis battery. You have to make sure it's turned off individually or it will be a draw on the system. It may leave your battery flat after a short period of time.

That's going to seriously limit the number of dashcams you can buy. The rechargeable battery packs for some of these (Blackvue for instance) almost exceed the price of the cameras...and they still need to be hardwired somewhere.

I have opened up the fuse box on driver side and there are no empty slots available. If i was going to use add a circuit where wiuld i plug it into?
Also how do you remove the A pillar on other vehicles there is a plastic tab you remove to get to the bolt
