  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Awesome car but can you listen to the radio with the engine off while waiting in the car?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Yes, press start button without pressing brake down and you will have power without engine running. You will get a message that if you leave it on that the battery may run down.

Yes. Turn off the car after parking, push the start button with your foot off the brake. You're now in ACC and the radio works. Don't worry about the battery. Despite the nag on the screen, the radio will turn off to protect the battery after 30-60 minutes, I forget which. You can always repeat step one for another 30-60 minutes without draining the battery.

On my 2009 V8/Tech it's 60 minutes before it shuts itself off. I've had the stereo blaring through open windows & sunroof a few times to listen to races on XM. (car was in the garage - I wasn't blasting the neighbors!) I've even restarted the system after one auto-shut-off so the system was working for around an hour and a half. Engine started up perfectly normally after that too.

I do use the systems options page to blank the LCD... though with the nag screens still displaying every few minutes I doubt I'm saving much battery.
