  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wondering if anyone else feels the same, but I find it odd that I see only 1 Genesis per week or so on average, sometimes two if I'm lucky.

Yesterday I saw a platinum silver with WA plates driving down 101 in San Mateo, (south of San Francisco) and I realized that Genesis sitings in the SF Bay Area are fairly rare. I can spot 'em a mile away, but I very infrequently see them in my neck of the woods.

I actually see more Teslas per week than Genesises (Genesi?). And if I had to guess, I'd say there seem to be 100 Lexus (Lexi?) for every one Genesis.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's not a lot of these actually on the road?

California is very status conscious when it comes to car brands.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

Not just you, I live in Southern Ohio and I saw one on Saturday in the Costco parking lot. I've had my car just over a month and this is the first one I can remember seeing.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

I live on the west coast of Florida about 90 miles north of Tampa and there are a lot of Genesis in this area. It is not unusual to see one or two a day and in the Ocala area they seem to be quite common.
Many times they are mistaken for Bentleys, especially if they are winged out.
My Genesis still gets a lot of attention when I’m on the road when I travel the interstates and it is not unusual to get a lot of lookers and sometime a thumbs up from passersby.
It seems to draw interest in parking lots also. Many times I see people looking through the windows and walking around the car while it’s parked.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

Considering how long Lexus has been on the market and how many models
they field it's obvious more will be seen on the road. With just one Genesis sedan model/body shape no way will they be as numerous as Lexus..
If you lived in and around the area that Morgan Cars are built you will see lots
On the road..Not too many at large..
On any given day I always see 1 or 2 Genesii out and about in the Merced and surrounding area..
My "G" gets lots of look-sees" or is it
my bikini clad cheerleader companion?
😳😳😳😳😉😉😉😉😁😁

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

if you don't mind the badge and service dept...

you get a good quality , feature, car.

It's amazing how rare this car is here , I see perhaps one a week (other then my own). People have no idea what it is and they ASSume its a BMW... joke is on them.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

You don't see that many in Boston either. Perhaps I see one (when I actively look for them) 2-3/week. That said they are also quite generic so hard to pick out in traffic.

My feeling is that 95% of people don't know about it (yet) and then here in NE a few more (including my boss) turned it down because it didn't have AWD (he got a 5 series instead). Perhaps I will live to regret this decision but I don't understand why AWD is such a must have in NE. Sure it's great to get out of parking spots but the roads I drive on are almost always clear within hours of a snow storm ending.

It's a nice looking car that will draw attention. With the rebadging this is one of the cool features. It looks quite expensive and with an exotic badge even more so.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

I've seen a bunch of Gennys on the road but have only seen 1 other RSpec (a black one) near me.

Re: Rare Genesis Sitings

I live in Florida and see so many down here compared to two years ago when I got my 2012. However, I don't see any that look like mine with the Prada LED Headlights so I still feel kind of special lol

Invest in a good set of winter wheels/tires and you will be fine.

That's the plan.... Anyone has recommendations for a reasonable set of winter rims?

A fair number of Gennys here in Atlanta. This is certainly a car = status town, so it took them a while to catch on, but I see about 1-2 a day in my average 5-10 miles of driving a day.

Also, I think this has affected the 'second-look' aspect of the car here. I've had mine for a couple of months and about 1,000 miles, but haven't noticed anyone taking a second look

I very seldom see one in central Kentucky. There are many Lexuses. (Few classes in economics in the schools, perhaps.) Mine is winged out, so no one would know where to look if they wanted one.

I haven't seen another Rspec since purchase in Sept 2012.

go figure.

Not like in CA. Also, in many areas of CA, the cost of living is so high, and income is so high, that they spend more money on cars compared to ATL. The average person with a decent job in SF or San Jose area drives at least a BMW.

Sorry to got OT, but are these truly LED, not HID? Cost? AFLS compatible?

The Prada rears look to be no different than 2012-2013 stock tails.

Very few of these cars around here, I do think Santa Barbara, Ventura, L.A., and Orange county suffer from the snob complex.

I live in Orange County, CA and see at least one a day. I still have not seen a R Spec....

I live in SE Florida, you can't go 5 minutes without seeing one. Very popular car around here in Palm Beach and Broward counties.
