  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have about 2750 miles on my 2013 2.0T R-Spec. I just started noticing a low grade rattling in the upper dash area. Seems to be toward the rear of the dash and near the base of the wind shield. It is almost constant. Doesn't matter if I am at low speeds or not. Before anyone asks, NO! There is nothing that has fallen into the defroster vents. I am going to take it to Hyundai this week. If anyone else had had similar problems with their new or older Coupe, please let me know what the cause was, if you got it fixed, got good service from Hyundai, etc.

Thanks!

I had a vehicle which had a screw loose from the factory once in the upper center dash - drove me nuts. Sometimes things like this happen. Let us know what the dealer applied fix is.

Not to be sarcastic, but make sure you check the obvious - sunglasses rattling in the cupholder or upper glasses compartment, stuff in the glovebox or trunk, phone dock vibrating against something, etc. Sometimes, sounds can seem like they are coming from somewhere other than they are, too, bouncing off the glass. I keep spare parking change under the passenger floor mat, for example, to prevent that driving me nuts. I doubt there's anything loose in the car's construction being so new, although it is theoretically possible.

I have checked all of the places can can have loose items rattling around. There is nothing anywhere that can make the sound I am hearing. I am scheduled to take my car in on Tuesdat next week for the first oil change. They are also going to inspect the sound I am hearing. I will post their findings.

Oddly, the rattling in the dash area stopped one day before I took it to be inspected. It really baffles me how these things could happen. I was hoping to get it inspected to find what was causing the sound. This could have been useful to someone else later on. Hopefully, that sound does not return.

I have the same problem. I brougth my gen coupe brand new 2014 and have that annoying rattle noise in the dash. I took it to the dealership and they say that they fix it but rigth after I drove it I heard it again. How do you fix it or do you know what was that sound?? Please answer Im about to return the car to the dealer and take my jeep back.

Mine has the same rattle. Seems to be at low speed high RPM. I am going to dealership next week to inspect. I have about 18k miles, but it has been rattling since 2-3k. Not enough to make me return it and get a jeep back though....lol

I'll submit if they find anything.
