  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ready to move on—this rollout fiasco is too much!

Zero point in waiting for me. I could wait 6 months...and get another $2-3k off...but you risk interest rates going up as well. My time has come.

And for those of us who have been PMing with you and going through the ups and downs of the quest for the car, as well as your mindset, the time can't come too soon. JK. :roflmao::dance::cheers:

With the $1k Conquest Offer + $2,500 lease cash back + $1k under MSRP (pretty much confirmed)...I'm doing it. The car is cheap as it is for what you get...let's not forget that (included maintenance as well).

I like your thinking. Congrats man, hope the rest of the process goes smoothly! I'm leaning towards one of the blue colors, since 90% of the cars on the road are either black, while, or silver/grey.

Thank you for mentioning the Stinger. I was a bit put off by all the reviews that said G70 drove better, but when I went back and watched the same reviewers’ earlier Stinger reviews they were praising it highly. Would you post your test drive impressions on this thread?

Alternatives to G70?

Thanks!

I think the G70 is a sharper ride in the corners, flatter and feels more like what I would expect out of that type of car (3 series/S4/C Class) whereas the Stinger when I drove it still felt good and rode nicely. Stinger was the first car I test drove when we started and was still in the running right to the end. Both my wife and I liked it a lot and would have gone that way just for the extra room had all things been equal because frankly I do like to push and drive a good windy road but I'm not going to go nuts so the extra sharpness of the G70, while good, would have been satisfied well enough in the Stinger. The problem for us was I couldn't A) get a Kia dealer to come to the table and B) get a price/rate that even came remotely close to the G70.

Some notes from my numbers specific to my scenario. These are all in prices with Freight, taxes and all the odds and sods. I was trading in a 2013 Santa Fe Sport that had a balance of $16400. In the case of the Santa Fe I never completed that quote because they were jerking me around though I suspect it'd fall in line with the others, payment on that specific vehicle would have been closer to $605 a month in reality. The two G70 had the trade in value difference and the incentives included in the numbers, there was only the required $1000 down in those numbers. The Kia had no money down and the trade difference included. the Mercedes had $5000 down to get to that payment. Admittedly a much more expensive car, very much a good deal given it's pricing, but feature for feature a good third less content than the Stinger, G70 or Santa Fe. This was my short list. Some other considerations that didn't make it were the CX-5, XC-40, A4 and 3 Series though I never ended up including the last two on the list because they were off in left field pricing wise. The C300 originally only made it on the list because the payments looked a lot better but they are the pros at the hidden cost when you sit down.

Keep in mind this is Canadian and your rates and deals you can swing will vary but it gives you a sense of how numbers were looking for me. If I didn't have a trade deficit buried in the G70 Dynamic like I do above, assuming I put down 3500 more to cover that like I essentially am to get that C300 payment there, it's payment would basically be at or just below $600 a month. It's really hard to beat these things on performance/content/price right now.

I'll mention I can really commiserate on the delays going on in the US that would really suck. Hopefully they can start to get these cars to those who really want them, it feels like this is the beginning of that wave from what I'm seeing. Fingers crossed!

Well folks...glad I didn't overreact and get an S4 on Oct 31.

I just got confirmation my exact trim has been located...and shortly will be enroute to my VA dealer.

H...O...L...Y...F !!!!!

I've been very silent on my progress lately in pursuit of my ride. I will post my story in another thread a bit later on.

Beer time. 5pm somewhere.

Bravo! Now don’t get too frustrated at the dealer visit. There is always something.

In case you can't tell by the title of this thread, this thread is for those of us who are JUSTIFIABLY upset at the long, drawn out, disastrous G70 rollout. This is especially true for those of us (like me) who live in western states. This forum is NOT for Genesis apologists or trolls. Like I have previously stated, I like very much what I have read and heard about the G70 but am sick and tired of waiting and waiting for availability.

Gee, I thought it was just for griping. Which is what I was doing, although somewhat sarcasticly.

And if you are sick of waiting, then . . . Don’t wait. Perhaps that’s a more constructive action.

OMG--get off this thread troll. This thread is for venting, not trolling.

I havent test drove the G70 so i cant compare between the two. My impression of the Stinger is that its fast making it fun to drive. Coming from an Altima SR which only has 274hp V6 the Stinger is a Roadrunner . It may be G70 is better in handling because its shorter and weighs less than the Stinger. I can see the Stinger is better suited for me because of the versatility of the bigger back seats space and more cubic feet of trunk space. If you have a family get the Stinger.

Weight, track and how Genesis tuned it is all different. It's apparent that there is a similar platform and driveline bits but any review that has seen both points out the turn in speed and sharpness of the G70 over the Stinger. Having driven both I can confirm. I didn't find any issue with Stinger handling though, ive clearly gotten to that point where a grand touring tuned suspension is perfectly good either way for me

For the hatch space I'm dubious about the cargo space being that additive. It is cubically larger however I'd take a closer look at it from a usuable space point of view. I think one review, car and driver I believe, pointed out it didn't take that much more over a typical trunk in the class until you flattened out the rear seats. The extra rear legroom was the primary appeal for me there.

Both great rides, really should drive both and see which feel ends up feeling best. For us in the end we've decided G70 because of price/lease rate.

I got a call from the absentee Kia guy today and told him he had a $80 gap to make up and Genesis just dropped lease rates to 1.4 so not sure what he can do. He was going to look though. I've started the financing process with Genesis so the clock is running.

Good luck on your G70 venture. I have been shopping around with Kia dealerships for the Stinger. I am overly stressed out right now. Some salesman dont even look twice at your offer. They just stopped answering your email. I hope Genesis dealers quality of service is better and make the process of buying an ease. I think i will wait to see the G70 in person at L.A. Auto Show at the end of this month. It will help me evaluate which to buy then. I am in CA so the car wont hit the dealerships until next year. Genesis, what are you doing?!

Thanks, pulled the trigger and got the lease approved today! I can say with certainty this is how I want car purchasing to go, I love the Genesis shopping method. My rep at Genesis has been great, she's super responsive and I really dig that the entire way through I knew exactly what numbers I was working with, give or take 10$ a month. I hate the sales office shuffle, I hate waiting for people to decide if you're serious. I hate asking for the best price and then once you move on they find a whole other new price. As you said I hate being ignored by some. Kia was really disappointing. My dealership in Victoria is frankly really poor. The sales staff looked like rejects from other dealerships ended up there. The sales guy that landed me only works 3 days a week and doesn't hand off anything so the sales manager had to try and fill in, doesn't help getting things done either way. The Kia lease rates are what let them down really, aside from their bunk sales team. If they had 2 or 2.5% they probably would have been competitive with the G70 on the final payment amount.

Really sucks about the US rollout, I am really thankful I found the G70 when I did and that Canada has been an early adopter, our dealership issues aside. Online purchasing is the way of the future without a doubt. Funny enough when I did my initial look around and went 'meh' to all that was out there for SUV is when I started to just look at cars for fun, ran into the G70 and went holy cow! Then spent a month researching any and all other vehicles to make sure the numbers made sense and I wasn't just falling for a car like I have in the past. ;-)
