  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Noticed today that my rear seat AC vents are not blowing any air at all. Messed with hot and cold dials as well as less air/more air dials and could not get any air flow at all. Car does not have rear seat controller. In dash ventilation screen does have rear seat vent to check, but is grayed out and cannot be selected. I'm scheduled for the dealer on Tuesday to fix this and the dash trunk release button. Did I miss something in the manual about the rear seat vents?

Had the same issue the other day. :)

There is a flow dial in the back. Make sure it is OPEN. If it is, then the vent is open AND it's available to turn on/off (not greyed out) via the Climate control. If it's closed, the vent is closed AND the option is greyed out in the Climate control system.

Tried that. No amount of manipulation of the flow control gets the air flowing or shows up on the screen (display remains greyed out no matter what I do). Its almost as if the software doesn't know there are rear vents to open the air flow to the rear seats. I'll keep playing with it but its probably going to require dealer intervention.

Make sure the front air vents are set to blow on your face. That's the only way I tried.

Hit the Climate button on your dash. Then I think settings and make sure rear vents are checked.

As I mentioned in my first post the rear ac vent option (to check) in the climate settings is greyed out and cannot be checked. Thought this might be an easy problem to fix but not even dealer can figure it out after a quick visit after work yesterday. Will keep my appt. for Tuesday and have them figure it out.

sounds like the switch in the rear that tells the climate control that the vent is opened or closed has gone bad. probably just an electronic switch.

DOH!! my bad lol. I can't read. :(

Have you had this issue fixed yet? I have a vehicle that is doing the exact same thing.

Yes! Dealer replaced switch in console and works like a charm. Write up states switch Assy - Venti. Part 97025-B1000.

Thanks for sharing, 3rd day with my Genny and experiencing this same issue, glad it's not just me. Will call dealer tomorrow.

This must be a common problem. I just checked the rear vents in my recently purchased vehicle. The rear vent selection is grayed out on the climate screen and moving the rear vents controls did not have an effect. I'll have this checked out when I have my first service. If someone happens to come up with a magic fix, let us know

Purchased my 2015 at end of August, the Rear A/C never worked from day one. Option Grayed out on Climate Screen. Took to dealer, they kept it a week, only to tell me they could not figure out the problem, finally told me they had to order a part it would be ready following week, following week when I called, said the part was on back order.

Part came in October 5, they installed, and it still didn't work. Kept it another two days, finally said it was a connector issue & a bad part. Have it back now and appears to work fine. Shows up in Climate screen and is blowing cold air.

Holding my breath on any other issues. Need to take it on a road trip to test things out.

This exact part was replaced for me as well and Rear AC vents now work as designed.

I tried to tell the dealer of this Part # beforehand to save their 1 hour of troubleshooting but they blew off my 'Internet advice' lol.

You would think that a manufacturer would create a searchable national database so that dealers could quickly and easily search to find problems and fixes, but I think that most live in the 90's with this technology. Yikes!

It seems like dealers have their hands tied. Unless they get A TSB from HMA, they can't think on their own :D

I had the exact same problem. No adjustments with the controls in the Rear Seat corrected the problem.

It required a Part Replacement, which they only discovered after tearing the inside of my brand new car apart. It took almost a month to get it fixed.

Waited weeks for the part to come in.

Was going to give you the Part Number, but just realized dealer was going to mail me a copy of the invoice, and I never got it.

Best of luck.
