  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been driving my Genesis 3.8 for about 2 months now. Normally when the car is backing up the rear view camera displayed in the LCD screen BUT if you accidentally touch something in the knob control like the XM radio button or the CD/DVD button or any of those buttons, the rear view camera display disappear from the LCD screen. Imagine you are relying on the rear view camera display while backing up then all of a sudden the rear view disappear. I guess the logic of the program is that the driver should not operate any buttons while backing up but what if you accidentally touch it or your passenger next to you will operate the radio for you. Is this normal to all Genesis owner out there?

Yes, this happen to me a few times as I was backing out of my driveway and the wife started changing XM stations.

In my case, I generally turn off the display, however, doing so results in the back-up camera not showing on the screen. The solution, I found, is to just hit the DIS track-roller.

can you just put the car in neutral then back to Reverse again to get the display back to the camera?

Moving the car to N and back to R displays the backup camera again,

I havent touched any buttons while I was backing up so I never noticed, only gripe I have with the backup camera is it takes so long to come up when you reverse. I dont think anything should make the backup camera disappear from the screen as you are backing up
