  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I love my new 2015 Genesis Sedan, but am annoyed by the Rear view mirror that seems to block the forward side view. If the mount was an inch longer, on a bit thinner, I would gain considerable forward view. I am forced to sit lower than I would like to have a satisfactory forward viewing position.

The issue I noticed during my recent test drives of 2016s was that the rear view mirror did not retain a position well for taller drivers to see out the rear window. That is, trying to set the mirror so it is angled more towards the roof. The housing for the forward looking camera seems to get in the way and the mirror droops which causes the view to include part of the rear shelf and not all of the rear window.

Anyone else seen this issue? It may make or break buying the Genesis for me. The dealer says it is fixable and due to heat/sun-baking causing <whatever> to loosen up so it won't hold the position. However, 2016s have not been on lots all that long and I would not think this would be an issue.

I'm not seeing this on my 2015 with Signature PKG. I don't have the camera on my car, so perhaps that's part of the difference.

I read other posts where they just had the dealer tighten up the mirror.
