If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I can't believe Hyundai came up with this car!!!
by Stephen from Scottsdale AZ (7/31/08)

Pros:can't believe this is really a Hyundai!!! so much standard features for great price
Cons:none so far

I have driven many luxury cars, including MB S and E class, BMW 3 and 5, Audi 4, Lexus LS and Chrysler 300C(well not really luxury). Let me tell you this, when I drive this car, i can't tell the difference. Smooth ride, quite interior, sexy exterior, roominess and so much to list!!! But the best thing is the price. I got 4.6L V8, most of the options that the dealer can offer and still got all this under 45K. one happy customer.

Looks like Phoenix/Scottsdale are holding out on us.

I added a review at Yahoo pointing readers there to this site. [Standby Sal :D]

Good Job BaywayRic!

I missed that review which seems to indicate another V-8 and that one was posted back on 7/31/08.

What do you think have there been a few V-8's in hiding or what goes here? Be fun to try to track back to the dealers that sold them to see if they are able to verify this.

so why is arizona getting the cars?!?!?!?! i want one:D

i called the 1-800 number last night and they told me mid-late october....

The V8 reviewer is just full of it, just like the reviewer on Edmunds who trashed the V8 claiming to have one, yet didn't know what features the car had.

I can see adding the review good or bad if they test drove a V8 at the Hyundai Discover Genesis event. I also think they should mention that they Test drove a V8 and not that they own one in there review.

I live in Scottsdale - and have been in touch with virtually ALL the Hyundai dealerships - no V-8's as of yet.

i called the 1800 number again this AM. SMOKE AND MIRRORS. i asked if they could at least give me a month or even better a year (this or next). the girl i spoke with had to put me on hold so that she could speak with someone on the 'genesis team'. when she returned i was told that they have NO idea when they will be available.

we need to find someone that lives near the ports that hyundai brings cars into and keep an eye on the yards. i am convinced this is all a marketing strategy, that has been building up in the last few weeks.

i ordered mine 3 weeks ago and i am not a patient person.....:D

Just visited my dealer to show him my mods and play him a DVD. They have had their allocation for 2 V8s for several weeks now, today they received the VINs. Looking like late Sept, 1st week October is solid. Their 1st two will be a Sterling Blue, base model, and a Blk/Blk Tech. :)

At this rate, it looks like when the V8's start to arrive, the Pearl White's will be an additional wait, dammit!!!!

I threw our rep up against the wall while he was here today and grilled him on both the V8's and the Pearl White. The best I could get out of him was late Sept for the V8 (should have VIN's next week) and ~October for the white. I told him to make it happen, or he'd be sleepin' with the fishes!

No, of course I didn't really do that. But he did say late Sept and ~Oct, respectively.

So are they here in the US just waiting to be released or have they even made it to port yet?

did a search on autotrader, and it pulled up a V8 at fitzgerald in clearwater florida. called them and spoke to Bruce. he said that the car is in port, and they are waiting on it to be delivered to them. he was thinking in the next 10 days they would have it.....

A local dealer in Indianapolis also told me 10 days...which would put it arriving on the 10/11 of this month...However, the dealer I really want to buy from is still talking the end of the month...I doubt very seriously that this city will be getting the first V8 in the country...I have also been told that once the VIN # arrives the car should be in in a few days not weeks...

From the time I got my VIN, until the car rolled off the truck at the dealer was right at three weeks.

BaywayRic, I appreciate your heads up. It just goes to show that everything you hear is not the way it really is. I do hope that we begin to hear something positive about these V8s soon. I'm almost tempted to go ahead and get a V6 but, I've waited this long and I hate to give up...

There are more V-8's showing up on autotrader. I called the dealership but they aren't open yet.

FYI, a Black/Black Tech V8 is on its way to a Nashville dealer - not that it's going to help a person in Maine. At least shows they're a comin'.
