Remote App System Is Down

I had just configured Alexia to my G80 until Friday the 13th when Alexia said my link was down and I needed to re-link it. I got an oops after trying it a few times. I call blue link and they confirmed they were having issues with it. The operator said the engineers were working on it. It has been down for more than 48hours now and I suspected they were hacked. This has lead me to consider 3rd party direct remote operations. Thoughts??
 
I was getting failures trying to remote start, Called bluelink through the car and they informed me "so many people on the east coast are trying to remote start because of the cold it crashed the system" Seeing as how slow bluelink is to communicate this doesnt surprise me. Maybe theyll make it fast with some upgrades

It has been a bit of love/hate relationship for six years and three cars. Little things like adding a Widget for starting make it nice but then 3 days down, not so good.

I mentioned in another thread that I have 11 months to go on my "free" subscription and this would not be a good time to ask me for a $300 renewal.

I've had remote starters in cars too. They are good, but not 100% reliable either.

Yeah, who'd have thought it would ever get cold in the winter?
 
The title of this thread should be remote system up except for some. You guys must be really special. It’s in the 40s and that’s cold for here in SoCal. Tried it out this morning but forgot to lock the car. Tried the START and STOP. again. Worked perfectly. Even worked from my Apple Watch. Sorry guys. You got the short end of the stick.

I honestly wouldn’t believe anything first level support is saying about the cause. They are just making something up because they really have no idea why your app is failing.

Surprisingly Viper doesn't have this issue with their cellular based remote start services. It just works. I'm not even cold and I want to remote start my car.

And there has to be as many Viper users as Bluelink users.

I certainly believe you. I just don’t think you can make a flat statement that the servers are down if you believe me. It does not fit all the facts.

Just repeating what they told me. I have no idea what they have for servers and it they are different for iPhone and Android.
 
It's not an overload due to it being cold in CA. That's a BS answer.

For me, it started when I updated the Android app.
Mine started before that but about the time the new app became available so it may be related. Maybe the kid that runs their system had a lot of homework and has not gotten to the fix yet.

I called them, no ETA on when it comes back up.
The app is the most disappointing part of this car, Makes me miss fob start and onstar which was the best thing about my Cadillac.

Still down. Not a big deal (for me) in reality. Weather here is great so no need for a start. I'd probably feel different going to work at 5AM and 2 degrees.
Curious though, how things work on their end. Do the servers get a different signal from the app on iPhone and android? Same or different servers? Could be a simple programming glitch that is not properly recognizing signals from Android apps.

Stuff happens. I sometimes cannot get onto my bank account but a couple of hours later it is good again. Not a big deal, but 4 days seems excessive for a computer glitch. Backups usually fix problems. Maybe the punch cards got dropped in a puddle.

All that said, we've become spoiled. I don't know your age, but you've probably had cars in your youth with nothing electronic, AM radio, crank windows, etc. Some of the complaints here are really kind of silly in the scheme of life. Some drivers today have never needed a key to unlock a door. Now some complain they have to push a button.

@EdP i don’t know much about android but have you restarted your phone recently? Better yet, can you start your car from the desktop app Connected Services | MyGenesis

Phone is restarted every day. Re-installed the app too.

So,I did try from the web site

Even though the request was sent from the computer my app also told me it did not go. My guess is no one is working on the problem until tomorrow.

I'm back on terra firma using my home WiFi, and it's not working. Attached is an error message.

What is the URL that you use on your computer? Curious if isitdownrightnow.com or similar websites would show anything.
