If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Remote App System Is Down

Apple or Android or desktop?
Sorry, Android. It's the latest version.

I can try it on my PC as well, just need to locate the URL and may need to sign up.

Well, now it appears to be working, at least for now. See attached - did a status update which failed, then unlocked the doors which worked, then another status update, which worked.

A remote start worked as well.

.. for now...

Still down. Not a big deal (for me) in reality. Weather here is great so no need for a start. I'd probably feel different going to work at 5AM and 2 degrees.
Curious though, how things work on their end. Do the servers get a different signal from the app on iPhone and android? Same or different servers? Could be a simple programming glitch that is not properly recognizing signals from Android apps.

Stuff happens. I sometimes cannot get onto my bank account but a couple of hours later it is good again. Not a big deal, but 4 days seems excessive for a computer glitch. Backups usually fix problems. Maybe the punch cards got dropped in a puddle.

All that said, we've become spoiled. I don't know your age, but you've probably had cars in your youth with nothing electronic, AM radio, crank windows, etc. Some of the complaints here are really kind of silly in the scheme of life. Some drivers today have never needed a key to unlock a door. Now some complain they have to push a button.
True, I had those cars and I do not think it is about features and being spoiled. If I paid for crank windows, then I expect them to work accordingly. I know all man made things are subject to fail, but I know it would be on the news if it was a fund/account site after 4 days. Yes I agree first level support don’t know squat. That is why it is hard for me to believe to many people remote starting their cars all at the same time? What about the days before?

Still not working here.

I have an iPhone and am receiving the error so I don't think its platform related. This isn't just an outage of the remote features, I tried to use the google local search and thats down too. My thought having worked in wireless is that maybe they are switching providers for their 3G service (4G in the G80?) and the cellular link is actually the issue. This would make some sense but the calls still go out for bluelink button so maybe just on the data end? Either way I can live with it. Its 65 in Florida but those 50 degree mornings just kill me :roflmao:

Generously: it could be the number of Genesi owners are growing and they're all stretching their proverbial legs at the same time.

I've done SRE and Cloud stuff in current and previous jobs. It's notoriously hard to develop for and predict demand, and usually the first two or three wallops pass by before you figure out how to scale services good(ish). I'd give them a little bit- the connected stuff certainly isn't core car building but probably a rather green department over in headquarters, busy rebooting people's PCs and doing help desk stuff at the same time to keep costs low.

No joy here in MD. Tried to start at 0600 to help clear the snow off; just now tried for a status update and got their apologies, the server is busy and taking longer than normal to respond. Using latest Apple IOS on a 7+.

I had a successful remote lock at 8:31 AM ET in Philly before I posted. YMMV?

Yep. Mine has been dead for 4 days now. Using the Android app. Used to work great prior.

The ONE day the car is totally iced over and I have to take the fam pet to the vet at 7:30 am and I tried to warm up car, NO GO.

I really wish they would credit our accounts for all the times this stupid "feature" has failed.

working here now finally.

X’s two. Only not sure how it would work. Refund by the # of times it’s a failure or divide contract price by days in contract and then reimburse by days of outage. There is no good/fair way to do it. Then you have to prove its a down service (this one is obvious) but other times not so easy.

Do not Pay any attention to that error message. It is BOGUS. I see it from time to time. Just disregard it and login again. I’m pretty sure it’ll work for you. It does for me. Good luck.

That message is just a remnant from your last session that the program didn’t clear out properly.

I had just configured Alexia to my G80 until Friday the 13th when Alexia said my link was down and I needed to re-link it. I got an oops after trying it a few times. I call blue link and they confirmed they were having issues with it. The operator said the engineers were working on it. It has been down for more than 48hours now and I suspected they were hacked. This has lead me to consider 3rd party direct remote operations. Thoughts??

Here's why I avoided Blue Link;

* Nothing but bad reviews from users
* Poor performance, support, and SLOW response times. (Pretty sad for a MAJOR car manufacturer)
* Overpriced!! All I wanted was Remote Start, but they FORCE you to get system package as well. That's $240 per year! Seriously?!
* Remote start causes the intrusive hazard lights to brightly flash, instead of steady park lights. Blue Link refuses to get rid of the flashing lights.

Here's why I chose the (Third Party) DroneMobile system for my Genesis;

* Unlimited range. Using the Smart Phone App, I can start/stop, lock/unlock it from anywhere in the U.S. And, no extra remote or phob to carry around.
* BONUS: My factory key phob was programmed for 3-click start/stop. So, if I am in range of the car, I don't need the phone app. Simply click my phob lock button 3 times and the car starts. Click it 3 times again and the car shuts down.
* The unit costs $330 (plus installation). And, a 5-YEAR basic remote start and door lock subscription is ONLY $179. Pays for itself in 4 years.
* Performance is outstanding. Works on an LTE cell signal. I get an alert within 10-15 seconds that the car successfully started/stopped, locked/unlocked.
* NO Flashing hazard lights. Will only flash twice to signal start success, then set to steady park lights and daytime running lights after that.
* Have also had it on my wife's Santa Fe for the last two years. Works great and has proven itself.

Dronemobile.com if interested. (I am not endorsed or paid by them, just a regular owner and user).

I finally had a successful start at about 1015 East Coast Time.

*My experience has been good and getting better. Now works with my Apple Watch for starting and locking, etc Try that with your fob!
*My response time is under 1/2 minute to start. Good enough so that when I’m in the market I can have it running before I’m finished checking out. If you want to start it while you are 20 yards from the car, what’s the point? And I can start if from ANY distance. I find response time is dependent on the signal strength in your area. Your dronemobile will have the same issues.
* Price is comparable to other brands. Your going to pay way more than $500 in the hope that you car will last more than 4 years and you will still want to hold on to it After that. I use all the features. Find sending a location to the car even more useful than the remote start. Well worth it.
*I don’t care about the flashing lights. I believe they are the law in many places so I don’t take it personally.

edit: I just saw that your device works on LTE. Very interesting. I don’t know how to do that just with the fob.

Mine started this morning and this evening, as well.

Yep it seems to be working until I buy the vehicle and purchase the service, then it will be down for a month then. Lol

Mine would not start yesterday morning but has worked fine today. I did not try it yesterday after noon as I did not need it. Kinda glad it was posted here because I thought my car was having an issue until I saw this. I think this is the second time I had an issue since I bought the car.
