  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Remote start

Tend to agree ^. Still have 10 months left on my 3year service with purchase. The FOB option if you wish to start from your office while your car is in a large parking lot not so sure will work? Same while your leaving the mall for not sure how well the FOB goes thru walls and buildings? In Texas when it’s 100 degrees in summer, car needs more than 60 seconds to start to actually cool down. With the app, I start it, wait 3 or 4 minutes before even walking to the parking lot and car which by then has cooled down nicely. Not sure what I’m going to do yet when my service expires? If it’s still almost $300 to keep remote start function, probably won’t re-subscribe.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

You can get the remote start for $200. I wish it was faster and more reliable. I get maybe 85% positive and if I don't give it a lot of time, I can be at the car before it starts.

I’ve had a few remote start app failures, but probably a 95% success rate. I’m still in the hallway at work after leaving my cubicle when I get the reply that my remote start request was successful. $200, better than $300 so thanks for the update. Not sure if Genesis is like SXM and will negotiate or if I Iet it expire will send me a come back letter a few weeks later with a big discount or not? Come November will figure all that out then.

I installed the MyKey Premium on my 2021 G70. Uses existing Genesis keyfob. Works like a champ. 30 min job, no cutting wires….. all underneath glove box. did require extra effort to strategically place all harnesses and control box such that the trim piece below glove box would reinstall properly. But very doable. Cannot recommend enough….. the website says up to model year 2020, but works just fine for the 2021. Cannot say enough good things about the quality of the unit, harnesses, connectors, and functionality. And they have a very good video for the G70 install.
I am considering getting this MyKey unit for the car. Could you please provide an update on how reliable it is? Are there any electrical issues or gremlins that you have encountered. Are there any battery drain issues when parked over a long time? Have you noticed any strange behavior with any other body controls like lights?

My connected services has always been very erratic... and I have to reset the head unit for it to start working again. A real PITA.

No problems at all with functionality and performance. My greatest fear was creating an annoying BSR (body squeak/rattle) after installation. Guess I did a good job. Not a peep. Couldn’t be more pleased.

When it’s dark out and you remote start the car. Do only the parking lights illuminate?

For the MyKey Premium I installed, the headlights illuminate when remote starting after dusk.

Could you please let us know how long will the engine run after the remote start? Is there any way to adjust the engine on time? Did the unit ship with any user manual? if so, would you be willing to share it with us here? Thanks!!

With the mykey premium, the engine will run for 15 minutes before shutting off. As far as I know this is not adjustable, although there are dip switches on the control box which I assume are set for your specific model. The only complaints I have about it is the transmitter range is limited to the factory key fob, also the amber parking and tail lights flash every 3 seconds while the car is running remotley until you get in (kind of annoying and draws unnecessary attention). I suppose they do this to confirm the vehicle is running? When you do get in the vehicle after remote starting, all you do is tap your foot on the brake to get the car to "boot up" and allow shifting out of park. Yes, there is a manual.

Wondering the same about voiding warranty.
You can remove it in less than five minutes if you need to take the car into the dealer for maintenance or repair.

Any chance that the onboard computer can read that it had a remote start unit? Either way, accessories are not supposed to make a warranty voidable from what I am reading.

I am not sure if the information is stored anywhere...

I wonder if a Stinger mykey would work on a G70. There is one for sale

My 2022 G70 key fob does have remote start. What trim is yours?
2021 and previous must use phone. There is a video out there in how to override remote start. They are showing it in a Kia Stinger. Unsure if that helps!

Another satisfied owner of the MyKeyPremium module. I wanted to wait for a little while before posting to test it's consistency, but the module was super easy to install (plug n play) and has been working mostly flawlessly since I installed it back in November.

Beyond the remote start functionality (which has been GREAT during the winter months), the module also offers automatic lock/unlock functionality based on proximity. It's especially helpful to know my car automatically locks itself after I walk away in case I inadvertently forget to lock it myself.

I totally agree with you, I have been using it since 2021...

What you mean by “mostly flawlessly”? Can you elaborate on what went wonky?

Nothing significant, just a few minor issues:
  • Remote start requires you to press the "Lock" button on the keyfob twice, but with a pause in between presses. On occasion, I won't pause for long enough to get it to work properly - but 9 times out of 10, it works perfectly fine.
  • Once the car is started remotely, it does happen on occasion where the auto unlock functionality doesn't sync up. In those instances, I have to revert back to manually unlock the car using the button on the door handle...like a peasant .
The one thing I do wish is that the auto unlock feature had an option to open all doors (vs driver only). However, I have experienced zero issues that are deal breakers...in fact, the first one should most likely be considered "user error". Overall, very happy with the module!
