  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

What did the dealership says about "A possible condition with your Battery Management System has been detected."
Nothing yet still waiting on them.

My Mauna Red remains at Calgary Genesis aweek in and with holiday weekend no prospects of getting it fixed/home until at least next Tuesday or later. Very unhappy with Calgary Genesis - real lack of information/updates on situation and what updates have been given largely place blame on Genesis Canada. In addition to lack of communications from my service advisor Ashley, am upset with her requesting that in order to run battery down they drive vehicle rather than just turn it on, run AC and radio, etc to run SOC down. Then whoever ran the SOC down kept the vehicle overnite at their home! Additionally the loaner I was given is a four cylinder underpowered Santa Fe not even a Genesis vehicle!
Non Genesis loaner is a big deal. That’s totally out of character and off brand for Genesis. I have always been given a Genesis loaner here in Ontario. Even when they had my G70 in for quite a while while they figured out what was wrong with the start stop system. They gave me a G80 5.0 v8 for a whole month.

Might the difference be standalone Genesis dealers versus Hyundai shops where they added Genesis as an afterthought? Apparently Calgary is opening a true Genesis dealership on the south side and I will for sure transfer my relationship from the combined dealer on the north side.

Is your car is still at the dealership, or are you still able to drive it?

Still in the dealership can’t drive it. They gave me a loaner which is the new GV80 lol. They ran out of EV to loan me. If they have an EV they said they would loan it to me. They have no clue what’s wrong with it. I call yesterday. My POC ask them how’s my car doing. They answer with an uh uh uh. Meaning there quite lost. So I’m patiently waiting. Currently I’m a big genesis fan. I also own a 2018 3.3T 2018 G80 AWD. And my mother owns the new GV70.

It was an extension of Mississauga Hyundai.

I certainly wouldn’t stay with the Calgary North Hyundai/Genesis location strictly based on their poor communication skills! Spoke to my salesperson at Edmonton Genesis who was amazed at lack of Genesis loaner and poor communication from service advisor there based on what I had experienced! She sent email to her contacts at Calgary unfortunately as it was late in the day Friday don’t anticipate getting any response till Tuesday after long weekend.😩

Just out of curiosity, has anyone looked at the monthly air push notification that the genesis app sends out? My first 30 days with the car showed that it consumed 3300 kWH. Which I find extremely high comsidering my milage shows 2700 km.
I agree something is not right with the monthly report: for about 1250 km that I drove, it says a total of 2650 KWh is used. That doesn’t make any sense. My average consumption is 17-18kwh/100km. So it should show something like a total consumption of 225 kWh for the 1250 km. Something doesn’t add up!

Still in the dealership getting service. The Genesis representative gave me an update and ask the technicians. The only answer they gave was uh uh uh. So as of right now. They have no clue what's wrong with it. They gave me a GV80 as a rental which is nice. :)

Riddle me this @G-780744:
Perhaps, but do most people in the world live in 3 of the 4 US states where the GV60 is currently available?
>New Jersey
>New York
>Connecticut
NJ, NY and CT drivers deal with snow and sleet every winter - usually a lot of it!
(The only other place to buy a GV60 in the US today is California).

Today took my GV60 to the dealer to verify a weird clunk noise from the rear and the warnings for the e lsd differential, digital dide mirrors, and lane keep assistant. After 6 hours got it back and the rear clunk were loose centric suspension adjusters. For the warnings was told that it had a recall Fail code 20D065R0. All is good for now.

Call in to the Genesis Dealership today for an update on my Genesis GV60 Performances. There still testing the heck out of it. Before they start to throw in various parts into the vehicle, they still have no clue what the issues could be. Has been in the shop over a week now.

I think someone else mentioned this but my HVAC keeps changing to Celsius whenever I get back into the car.

I recently installed my front license plate in the lowest part of the middle of the grill on my GV60 I’ve had for a few weeks now and been getting front collision safety system disabled warnings & that the radar has been blocked - has anyone ever seen similar? I’m wondering if the radar is centrally located & my license plate position is bad. I’m going to try to switch the location to the front side of the car and see if that fixes that problem that only came up with the new plates.

The sensors are on the bottom of the grill, you can see them fairly easily. US plates? My dealer gave me GV60 specific front mounting bracket that clips on and screws in above the sensors.

Does everyone get the “battery discharge warning” soon after shutting the car off if you remain in it with accessories running?
I’m wondering whether this is a standard reminder or something I’m seeing because the car recognizes that my battery is weak from when it was discharged.

Standard reminder. Your car systems in standby drains about 500W from the 12v battery when your car is not on. It would fully discharge the 12v in about two hours. All Hyundai/Genesis are programmed to constantly flash that warning.

I believe once you turn off the car but are still running the accessories, you are drawing power from your 12 volt battery. If the light comes on right after you turn off the car it sounds like your 12 volt battery is not fully charged. Suggestion is to test the 12 volt battery voltage ( you can buy an inexpensive one on Amazon). I would also suggest purchasing a inexpensive battery tender/charger also on Amazon to charge the 12 V battery to its full capacity. I plan on checking the battery voltage and charging if necessary once a month. Supposedly when the light comes on this is your high voltage indicator which has electricity flowing from the cars battery pack to the 12 volt battery however I am not so sure that this in itself fully charges the 12 battery.
