  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

Are you doing it when the vehicle first starts up, or are you giving the infotainment computer a bit of time to start up?

I find that I have to give the vehicle a little bit to start up before interacting with it, including accepting the safety prompt using the fingerprint reader or the "Confirm" button via the controller knob. The screen seems to be ready way before the computer can actually take any input, and it feels like they did it to make the infotainment look faster than it really is.

My second driver never has an issue with his fingerprint, no matter when. For me, it rarely works. I keep thinking to redo it, but haven't yet.

Just wondering if I am the only one having problems with the fingerprint scanner. Usually I have to try at least twice before it works. A few times it gave me a time out for a few minutes due to repeated bad fingerprint scans. I cleaned the fingerprint scanner and I deleted my fingerprint profile then re-entered it, still doesn't work well
Yes, I have the problem. Usually, if I really want to, I just restart the car and it works. If it doesnt work, no big deal, I normally have my key or phone.

Has anyone experienced wind noise coming from the front windshield? Mine has been like that since I purchased the car new.

Nothing more than I'd expect at the speed I'm travelling.

Whether I wait or do it right away makes no difference, the fingerprint reader is inconsistent / unreliable.

Yeah, the noise from the windshield is slightly annoying to me because the car is otherwise so quiet. I've never been the passenger in my car, so I don't know if it is from both sides or just the drivers' side. I find myself hitting the window control to make sure that the window is rolled up, but it doesn't change.

It does seem to be coming from the top of the windshield. I noticed it a few times when driving into a headwind. Many of the video reviews I watched noted it too. Could be a TSB sometime to correct it.

When I had a similar issue I re-registered my fingerprint. Now works fine. It’s possible there’s a software issue. Not an ideal solution, but it’s working now.

I am not sure if its the same thing but I have also noticed increased wind noise when driving my Ionic 5 into a strong headwind. Its source seems to be the 4-5mm gap to where the front sunroof glass mounts to the body. I can mitigate the noise somewhat by closing the panoramic roof blinds. This seems to be a common complaint with Teslas as well and there are aftermarket companies that supply a thin gasket material for this gap, not sure how effective this actually is.

Would be an interesting and easy fix, I would think.

Those of you who have the easy entry enabled (the seat slide back when you turn off the car and open the door), does your seat retract when you close the door?

My car is very inconsistent. Sometimes it stays extended, but mostly it will retract when I close the door whether I'm in the car or not. It kind of drives me nuts, especially when I'm DC fast charging at EA I want it to stay extended. Last night when I charged it stayed extended. Then when I got home, shut the car off, exited the car and closed the door, the seat retracted once again. If nothing else this is wearing out the power seat motor lol.

I prefer if it slides back immediately upon shutting off the car (rather than when I open the door), and not retract until I actually start the car.

Mine does what yours does, and I also wish it would wait to bring the seat forward until I start the vehicle. It pauses if you start it while the seat is moving, and that feels clunky.

Sometimes, my seat double extends and I feel like a child sitting in a big chair with my feet dangling in the air, trying to reach the pedals- but when I shut the door It retracts one level, and then I can reach the brake pedal well enough to hit the power button and use the preset button on the door to bring me back. A quirk, certainly, but not really a complaint.

This happens to me all the time, kind of disappointing because face unlock works perfectly. But I can't trust the fingerprint reader.

Otherwise I'd be going keyless all the time.

I disabled it since I have keys on me at all times.

I have the same issue. It’s hit and miss if it will start the car. I carry the key fob with me all the time. As a back up the digital key (mobile phone) does seem to work well to start the car. However I still feel safer carrying the key fob with me.

I have to carry key card as backup since digital key 2 doesn't support my phone. It's crazy that it only works for apple and Samsung phones.

So most android users have no digital key with their gv60 currently.

I have not had any luck getting the key card to work. Not sure if the dealer has to activate it or if Genesis customer care can help.
