  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

Does anyone know if Genesis will consider adding a rear wiper? Seems odd to include bells and whistles such as facial recognition and a crystal ball but not include a rear wiper.

Most sloping vehicles/ie: lift backs don’t have rear wipers for better aerodynamics. (GV60)
Verticle rear glass/ie: suv, cuv, hothachbacks, do for better visibility.
In the next five years, or so, rear view cameras/rearview camera mirrors will replace most rear wipers and side mirrors.
(Fun fact: Only 10% of drivers use their rear wipers within a year.)
(Before SUV’s flooded the market in the late ‘90’s, No sedan had a rear wiper.)

Are you charging at 48A? If so, it's a known problem and there is a class action lawsuit - Hyundai, Kia & Genesis EV Battery Charge Defect | Hagens Berman

You can try lowering the amperage at the charger or via the car (Car has 60% and 90% options). Another option is to get the software fix which will automatically lower the charge rate when the port is overheating.
Didnt see the 60% or 90% option, just see Min, Reduced and Max. Funny thing is, I never had this problem in first 10 months. Only this past month.

Genesis has a software fix for this?

Good point. I have a 50 amp line which means I am charging at 40 amps.
We were charging ours at 48 amps for around 9 months before we started experiencing this same issue. I adjusted my evse to 40 amps and although the problem persisted it was a lot more rare.
Unfortunately we had an iccu issue shortly after this and had to get the car towed to the dealer. After getting the issue fixed the first time it happened again when driving home from the dealership. I’m not sure if the two issues are connected but it’s very worrisome.

I feel for you. Electronic gremlins are a bastard to track down; hopefully this one can be solved quickly.

How do you compare the handling? My hope is to improve handling by changing out the Primacy tires for Pilot tires but I believe both vehicles have the Primacy tires so that is not a distinguishing feature.

The difference is night and day. Think like you're driving on an oil slick and all of a sudden the rain has cleaned it all off the roads. Braking handling and overall limits are all raised exponentially going from those awful Primacy tires to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's. They even have 30,000 mile warranty

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

One more question. Tirerack shows different 4S choices. One says electric tuned, shows HL range and was for Mercedes and the other says Michelin Total Performance, shows only XL range. Did you get the Mercedes version?

I got the cheaper HL as it met the load requirements for the GV60. No need to go to the pricier XL and I Got the standard 4S. The Pilot Sport SUV only have 20,000 mile warranty

Pardon the silly question but google will find nothing:
What does the yellow exclamation point triangle mean right above the "fuel gauge"?
Many thanks

Can you take a pic? The GV60 is a EV.
I think this might be the generic warning triangle.
the icon shows whenever there is some minor problem. Lately for me, it’s been a warning that my cameras are dirty and the various collision warnings may not work.

Thanks a million for your response. I can check that out. cheers

I suspect you’ll find that it’s connected to some other message with details of the specific issue.

When I read the cited story, I don't see an ICCU recall; I see a software recall which would suggest, to me, that it is merely the same software fix that owners here have been complaining about.
That's what I was thinking.

Possibly …

Although it seems odd that Reuters, Wall Street Journal all picked up the story as only being announced this week by Hyundai. We’ve also already had an earlier ICCU-related offer for inspection and update at dealerships (here in Canada) possibly with some owners experiencing persisting issues. This recent announcement seems to be a large global action and as chronicled in the video I shared was likely due to rear-end accidents on the road when cars lost power unexpectedly.

Perhaps just a long overdue corporate response to possible injury and ongoing complaints.

Exact same thing here regarding charging - no issues for the first many months of ownership, then last month the issue started where it would throttle down to 7kW from 11. Same as you I adjusted the charger to max 40A to charge at 9kW and it’s working but I’m now concerned that this is indicative of some form of degradation and not just software. When this started happening it was not immediately after any service or software updates.

Thankfully I have not experienced an ICCU failure on the road though.
