  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 Genesis Sedan 3.8 - blown right rear shock and need to fix this asap
I was very surprised the inspection station failed me for a blown rear shock. I figured I would order the shock off amazon or rockauto and do the repair myself. After searching all over, I can't seem to find a replacement available. I found a few things but nothing like I was expecting. I called the dealership and they said it would take up to 10 business days to get the part.
Has anyone else ran into this issue with a rear shock being blown anda DIY replacement ?

.Support the lower portion of the rear axle with a jack securely.
4.Loosen the bolt & nut and then separate the rear shock absorber
5. .Disconnect solenoid ESC & wheel speed sensor connector and then remove the wheel speed sensor bracket by loosening the bolt.
6.Loosen the bracket bolt (A) to disconnect the rear shock absorber from the wheel housing panel.

Shocks should always be replaced in pairs.
