  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up my new 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan Friday 9/9/11 from Ron Carter Hyundai in Houston. I've been looking to replace my wife's E320 and had looked at all the usual suspects but decided the Genesis offered the best value with hopefully comparable gas mileage. The E320 was a great highway ride and with 28 to 29 mpg it would be hard to beat.
Found Ron Carter Hyundai when i was searching the internet for cars filling my bill (Platinum Metallic with Cashmere and both Tech and Premium Packages) and naturally i wanted to get the best price. Their listed price was the best i had seen or been able to negotiate with any of the local dealers in the Dallas area.
I sent them an email and a young lady Veronica Recendez (i'll get back to her later) replied to my email with a phone call. Super nice, no BS, i told her i was looking for a better price and she said she would see what she could do. Called back with a little better price. Told her my wife drove a E320 and asked if i was eligible for the $1500 competitors rebate. She called back and said yes. Now I'm almost $7,000 off MSRP. Asked if they would re-badge the auto for me and they said yes. They threw it in the deal.
Went back to my local dealer in hopes he could get close to the deal as i was going to have to fly to Houston to pick up the car. He couldn't get close. I left him scratching his head. He will get my service though.
Caught the 4:30 flight to Houston Hobby airport. They had a driver pick me up at 5:30 and we did the deal that evening.
When we drove up to the dealership a car carrier was unloading and there was a gaggle of sales people looking to see if their customer's car were in that shipment. That is a good sign to me as it looked like these people like to sell cars.
My sales person came out to the car to meet and greet me. Let me say that if she were your typical sales person there would not be any car salesman jokes. Very attractive, attentive and easy to work with. Made this car purchase a real pleasure. Now i'm sure the other salesmen are very capable, but she was a treat to work with. Met their sales manager and can see why the general attitude is so positive. Very nice guy. These people are serious about selling cars. The finance guy was backed up with closing other deals so it took a while to get out but that was a small price to pay for a good deal. There maybe much better prices out there but i couldn't find them.
My recommendation would be to call Ron Carter Hyundai and ask for Veronica.
Oh and the 288 miles ride home, don't think we will miss the E320.....Genesis gas mileage little over 29 mpg and the ride....priceless!
Reminder if you fly to take a copy of your proof of auto insurance.
