  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

With exhaust valves open, stock tires, upgraded brakes and tons of fun. Skip to 2:00 minutes where fun begins. 1st lap is warm up and teaching students line at track. The Rspec did a great job. Aimed GoPro at front drivers wheel to see how it did.

Check my other vids and GoPro inside car views. :D

That was pretty cool... thanks for posting :)

Nice video! Sounds good! Can see the tires begging for mercy on some of the turns while trying to keep the 4000 lb car on the track:eek:

Liked the grassy excursion at 4:38:D;)

Exhaust sounds great!

Pretty sweet just watched the entire video. How do you feel the all season Conti's performed? Easy to overheat, or descent in your opinion?

You definitely need some summer tires on there! There was some major understeer there.

Exhaust sounds awesome though!

Hi guys. Sorry for late reply. Work took over for a few days.

With my $800 brake upgrade, I was dissappointed in their performance. By that, I mean they worked GREAT for the first two "braking zones" then faded. I had to drive most of the track with no brakes around 10 more turns before they came back. Keep in mind, I'm at 130mph braking HARD before hairpen turns. But I had put in racing brake fluid, stainless steel lines, racing rotors and racing pads.

Common sense is...this car is 4000+ pounds and it will take 6 piston calipers to properly slow this car down. I know the new 650hp Cobra Mustang and ZL1 Camaro are not fairing any better. In fact, one SS Camaro with upgrades lost brakes and went WAY OFF track.

The Rspec performed above average everywhere else. It's not a race car and it does not have BMW suspension, but it was a blast to drive. Very predictable to handle as you could tell from the drifts and apexing. Great power and just a ton of fun. The 8sp transmission was flawless and the Rspec is the best sedan for the money in my opinion! Had all the BMW guys coming over and saying, "I have been hearing about these cars." .......;)

Tires were okay, but definitely would have been much better to have summer tires vs my all seasons. Made the drifting videos easier though. My tires seem to last forever. I have done burnouts, track session and have 24,000 miles on them and they look great!

cool vid and report. the problem i have w/ the rspec is that it still can't compete with any of the cars you mentioned. sure, its a great deal for the money, but hopefully hyundai steps it up for the 2014 rspec so it can live up to the rspec badge. better brakes, suspension, a sports mode option for faster and more agressive shifting, lots more horse power and torque, and getting the car to acheive a 0-60 in the low 4's would make the car much more competitive on the rspec level imo.

Totally agree. A bump in power is required to align with the "big guys".
A more aggressive tranny and last but not least, better handling capability.
This car, albeit very nice, still lacks the "well planted on the road" feeling of German cars (read BMW)
I am pretty confident 2014 model will address most if not all of these issues.:)
